What is the minimum nfl rookie contract?
What is the nfl practice squad contract?
How much are these players making through nil?
The ncaa has created what the nfl wants. A minor league system that the nfl does not have to pay for.
The ncaa can only blame themselves. They have created this.

I was wondering if the two players in question opted out for their Bowl game against the Coogs-seems to me a new recruiting opportunity is now available-i.e. if you need a position player you wait for the NFL roster cuts and fill your needs = from what iāve read we could use another good linebacker this year.

One of them was a 4-year starter for Ole Miss
I posted it somewhere else but a practice squad contract is around $350K. Players can come back to college and beat that by multiples.

That the entire problem. Amateur sports for football and basketball was dead as far back as the 60ās. How do you all think UCLA got all of these players? John Wooden was the best Basketball HC of all time but he had great donors. The same can be said for tons of football blue bloods programs. Money does not make you win. uta is a great example but it can help you win.

Again, itās not just the blue bloods though. Our own athletic department also committed recruiting violations, which is why we got put on probation more than once.
As Iāve said before, it just sucks that UT didnāt get hit any harder.
You miss the point again.
uta and other blue bloods never got hit hard for one reason. They were in bed with the ncaa. The ncaa let them do what they wanted while they hit us and others with either a near death penalty or the death penalty.
What smu did the blue bloods did exactly the same thing including uta.
espn will never do a 30/30 on the uta infractions because by defacto they protect them. ncaa football and ncaa basketball has been corrupt for decades.

My whole question in all of this is why LSU would put itself in this position in the first place? In the end, they canāt win against the SEC which can have all of their SEC games forfeits, and make them ineligible for post season ā or worse. Stupid!

LSU did not include those two guys on the roster they submitted to the SEC tonight. I didnāt think they would.

Well yes and no.
The system was created due to the NCAAs own dereliction and illegality.
The courts, including the Supreme Court in a 9-0 decision, finished the job.
Fact is, the college athletics should have never been allowed to get this big. If people thought it was going to become this huge money making activity, then it should have been regulated by the government from the get go, or else treated like every other private enterprise.
The issue is that the NCAA and the universities want to have it both ways: they donāt want to be treated like a private enterprise but they donāt want government regulations either, or they didnāt until they saw what happens when you have no government regulations and are treated like a private enterprise.
Of course even the support for government regulations are a ruse because the regulations as proposed run entirely in the direction of regulating players and very little in regulating the schools, conferences, or television deals. That is why I do not support the current legislation.
