This game is sort of a lose/lose for Houston. If LSU loses, the apologists for the kittens will say they already checked out, didn’t care, and/or are “in transition”. If LSU wins, it will be the same old crap of disrespecting UH like usual. Personally I’d like to see Houston hang 60+ points on them, but Fritz won’t do that. Fritz will try to get enough to win but won’t run the score up. The headlines will read UH’s victory over a ‘beleaguered’ LSU. Either way we won’t get much respect no matter what.

…TCU is a serious in state rival…The year before, we went to Fort Worth and beat them when they had a better team than we did. ITS a RIVALRY. We lost this year because we missed 2 FGs in the 4th quarter. TCU is every bit as good as we are. They went 8-4 with a much tougher non conference schedule than us. Losing a game late to them was bad luck, it wasnt “choking” because we lost.

The last time we beat LSU we got their coach fired.
I guess we can remove that scenario from this game.
Knowing LSU they’ll want someone fired if they lose. Might as well be Kiffin.

CWF will have us ready to play regardless of LSU and what they may or may not have going on. He would have them ready to play the Texans and Cowboys if they were next on the schedule. Go Coogs!

No. Willie’s Tulane team never played LSU.

I lived in Houston quite a while during the 70s and 80s. I remember the ‘media’ constantly bowing to the alter of the cows, the famers, and cowgirls. It was brutal opening the Chron or the post and seeing the cows and the farmers on page one of the sports page and UH on page 3, even if they had both played the same day. (It was the same BS with the Oilers and cowgirls.).
There has been this constant drumbeat of how somehow UH was a lesser institution because UH started small and slowly grew. Well Gee, give us a 100 year multi-BILLION dollar head start and we sure as hell would have caught up to, or passed, somebody!! I am very proud of being a Houston grad and very proud of my school. As with many other UH grads, I had to work full time and PAY for my own college as I went. I EARNED my degree with hard work and persistence. Likewise, Houston has had to EARN everything it has ever gotten. Houston has persisted under a great deal of difficulty. Our sports have had to put up with a hell of a lot of crap but still have persisted and been successful. Unlike some other folks, we haven’t had anything handed to us on a silver platter. When I was a student @ UH our sports teams played ‘pissed off’ and I liked it. The sense of entitlement I sense from other Texas schools is obnoxious AF.

You can scratch Tulane beating Ole Miss. The Rebels routed Tulane in both games just like I figured they would.
Kiffen isn’t coaching the team yet, he’s building a staff while the interim HC and remnant staff coach for the bowl game.
