To me this is a knock on Riley…… when you recruit a five star kid you out to be able to have him ready to step in by his sophomore season.
You either did not do your homework when recruiting him or didn’t do your job when he got to campus.
No way a kid that highly ranked should not be ready this season, even if you have to take a couple of losses….
I mean last year they didn’t do sh-t with the top college QB in the country……now they over recruit the kid again?
Top high school kids are gonna stop signing with you if you continue what likes a pattern.
- Riley just went 5-7 with the Heisman winning QB
- We have no idea what promises were made
- Sometimes it takes young QBs time to develop

His skinny build reminds me of Bryce Young! I hope he is taller than 5’9” for if he is he’s going to have a hard time making it in the NFL! Which is what happens to Bryce Young.

Are we not going to even speak of the qbs on the current roster? As said before, WF doesn’t have loyalty to anyone at this point, so why are we not hoping we have someone on the roster ready to push DS. If a portal kid wants to come and compete, great but we have 2-3 young qbs on the roster that are ready to compete as well. Don’t let shinny toys catch your eyes when a rock can be polished into a diamond.

There’s no one on the roster that is going to push anyone other than smith. That was really a knock on Dana. He didn’t recruit HS QBs and the QBs he had never took live snaps unless Smith was hurt. Anyone of that calibre that comes in is an instant candidate. Now, two years from now…that’s a different story.

Is that what you know or assume? We brought in a HS qb and a juco along with Coley. Remember the world we living in with NIL and transfer portal. I’ll just leave it at that.

Of course I don’t know. Coley ain’t even a QB anymore. And the other guy isn’t starting. NIL whatever. Malachi will instantaneously be a top 2 candidate to start.

Case was recruited by Briles. And every QB Briles brought it could take snaps. He was one the best QB recruiters in the entire country

Yessir I understand as I was in the locker room with all of them. Just know there’s more to just beating someone out these days when it comes to NIL and promises. Let’s not forget we’ve also seen some big time qbs come here and not live up to the stars and rankings. I’ll leave it at that.

Last I heard Shannon wanted to move him out to the slot. Then Shannon left and Dana moved the other kid in front of him. I guess Willie might put him back in the QB room. My understanding was he was not gonna play QB. But maybe I was drunk.

Yea. I forgot about him. Was Piland a 3-star. I think so. I think the kid from ATM came with the most fanfare. He had great footwork and a strong arm. He just didn’t get the level of coaching. Still made it to the NFL though. Still there with the Bills?
