my comment about activing sharp was a joke earlier, if sasser is out, this has to be a legitimate conversation…
we arent even talking kyler ankle injury,or tazes illness

, I’m freaking out.
As long as it’s not season ending.
I looked at our AAC schedule, the first few weeks ain’t too bad
If Sharp is 10000000%.not wanting to play 4 years of college basketball, ok.
If that’s the case then the discussion is the difference in him playing this Spring vs not. I’m of the opinion that we make the tourney and win the conference without him. So why exactly would we play him. Then mix in the fact he’s a HS kid, with no practice or real understanding of our team.
And he is coming off an injury. So you maybe play Sharp guys, what are you expecting him to do and what difference does he make? You think if we add him we are a final four team???
the sharp discussion only comes into play in the case of sasser missing most of the season…with mark and sasser gone, we are down to 4 guards in which all 4 are dealing with injuries…and almost guaranteed to have someone miss a game later on in the season. its about bodies…
ironically with sharp specialty being an offensive machine…note that without sasser, none of the remaining 4 guards are known for high volume scoring…
“hs kid” he is same age duren and emoni bates
“role” he’d obviously be the last guard off the bench, his role obviously wont be rob gray, but to hold down enough minutes to give the core guys rest, or hold off foul trouble//, and yes that could be the difference between a big run and not… and it might take a while to adjust but would not be shocked if he won a game for us by march
without sasser- this is our shooting line up – shead, taze, ramon and edwards… imagine the shooting on a cold edwards night vs a team that can play
What type of injury are we thinking?
The turf toe or something else?
So if Sasser is out, if we play Sharp (we won’t) what’s the difference in where we finish the season. Like I said, not much different. Which is why people who think he plays don’t understand basketball or this team. Caveat being Sharp says, don’t care about redshirting and I’m good with play 6 minutes a game, because reasons.
like i noted it was about bodies… yes he might average 6 mins a game for the season, as an average, but there are going to be games he plays 20minutes because shead or taze picked up 2 quick fouls…or kyler who has a sprained ankle resprains it… you are right we probably wont fall below top 3 in the conference even without sasser and no sharp… but we can still fall to an 11 seed as the #3 aac team… i do think he can impact our seeding
every aac home game is a q2 or worse loss (no q1), that majority of aac games are q3 games, we have a tiny margin for error in seeding, and yes i do think a top 100 4star, the highest recruit outside of tramon mark under sampson can help with that margin … sidenote, dejon was injured coming into UH (missed most of camp), and didnt play basketball at all the year prior, he was extremely significant on the sweet 16 team still
Dejon had already graduated HS spent an off season with UMASS. Then played an entire season of D1 basketball with UMASS. Not exactly comparable to a guy who hasn’t even gone to HS prom. LOL
If Sasser is out long term, I’ve 100% changed my expectations for the season. I go from 3 or 4 seed to 8 seed. Will hope we win the conference and conference tourney to hoping we win one of them.
I just don’t see some HS kid making a difference in those goals. If he just wants to play, so be it, no problem with that. Doubt CKS plays him much if at all, but that’s his choice.
He can Definitely make difference we literally only have 1 ball handler right now. If Shead or Kyle ever hurt or in foul trouble we are toast.
If Sasser is out for season which I doubt, our season is over as far as even thinking about a final four run:(
Could he be referring to Tramon as a minor setback, I doubt it, Mark’s shoulder is more than a minor setback, but hoping for that major comeback next year
Better to wait for the official channels before jumping up and down about what a 20 yr said in an instagram post. I believe when they post they do not consider middle age to advancing age as their audience. Though they should being where they are.
Or he’s commenting on how he missed the ULL game (minor setback) and came up with a major comeback in the TxState win…
Why would sitting out 2-4 weeks for an injury be considered a “major comeback” ?
Oh, that’s right…cause it’s worse than that. I need a drink
Where does it says he’s out 2-4 weeks… I don’t see that anywhere online.
No. I haven’t seen it. I’m just saying if it was a minor injury, that just needed a few weeks of rest, would you describe that as "Minor Setback, Major Comeback "?
I’ve actually seen similar posts from professional athletes from NFL, NBA, etc…
Where they have a season ending injury and they go to Instagram, Twitter and post: “I’ll be back better than ever next year, this will only make me stronger”
Thats the vibes I’m getting from Sasser’s post. But I guess we’ll wait and find out.
Look at other teammates accounts. If they’re tweeting supportive things at Sasser like they did T Mark, that could be a clue
Ummm… I’m going to consider Sasser healthy until proven otherwise.
I really hope Sasser isn’t hurt.
But, looking at the bright side. If he is hurt, I think this significantly increases the chances that Sasser is back next year.
It also gives a lot of minutes to the young guys. They’ll have to grow up in a hurry.
Amazing how a post can grow so many legs.
Y’all have a Good Day!
And Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to All!
