If Dana loses to or struggles against Sam this weekend, would a mass redshirt for building B12 depth be a way of saving face?
If they try to pull the redshirt BS again, the âWell Iâm doneâ thread will have more posts than the realignment thread
He will claim it is by design and that we will have a new starting 11 on offense.
Please no!!!
In the era of free agent (transfer portal) and NIL, thereâs no guarantee to keep them even if theyâre not redshirting. Play ur best players, win or lose.
If CDH did a mass redshirt this year, it would be a telltale sign he is trying to get fired.
The last time they tried this we had COVID and King leaving. Wonder what might cause havoc this time around?
He should do that. UH can argue that this amounts to termination for cause. No buyout.
Do our players have a bunch of unused redshirt years?
I donât think it will happen but wonât rule it out. Lets be honest we are, from an âexcuseâ standpoint, right where we were when he started in 2019 (the âour talent isnât ready for our competition so we have to burn it down to build it up to a winning levelâ excuse) and he did it to us once already. Fool me once, fool me twice kinda thing.
If we win and go to 2-2 I think he doesnât go the redshirt route and thinks maybe we somehow get to 6 wins and the pressure is let off. Obviously that is a pipe dream as we are only winning 4 games at most this year unless something drastic changes - but I digress.
If we lose to SHSU and are now 1-3 then that is where the real conversation begins. First, there is a real chance he gets fired if that happens. Assuming that doesnât happen, you have to believe he either knows he has the rest of the year to turn it around or has been assured he will get a second year no matter what. If he believes the latter, I definitely see him pulling the plug on some guys so that he can go all out next year to try to get a bowl game. Remember he will be able to use that SAME excuse when he got here âwe donât have the talent for who we are playingâ. With that said, he will only use this card if he absolutely has to - essentially this season is toast and he knows he will get a second one.
Would make for possibly the greatest week of all time on these message boards if we lose to SHSU, CDH isnât fired, and word comes out that a bunch of players will redshirt. With that said is there a chance a few players pull a King and decide they are going sit out the rest of the season and transfer? Someone like Matthew Golden perhaps? Complete guess on the name. SHSU is the 4th game so that is where the cutoff for RS happensâŠeither coach or player initiated.
I donât see it like that. I think it means he believes he will get a second year no matter what and that this year is a lost cause. I only think that would be the case if we somehow lose to SHSU this week - which seems very unlikely but we still have to play the game. Heâd reason redshirting players will help him more next year. Heâs done it before. Wouldnât put it past him.
Add âprofessional awarenessâ as another skill CDH lacks.
The last time was 2019.
waitâŠapparently even after 2019 and after keeping all of those players for an extra COVID year, according to our online roster, only 12 players on the current team have used their redshirts? That canât be right, can it?
Sure weâd lose some but then weâd just get more out of the transfer portal - Danaâs preferred roster building tool anyway.
Iâm curious if a promise of next year was agreed to with Pez or higher. I remember Pez reiterating the it takes time to build a B12 roster talking point. Smdh
That would be hilarious is an unbridled failure kind of way.
The talk all offseason from our leadership along with the contract and buyout seems to indicate that a second year is more likely than not but I guess until you go through a 3-4 win season and some blowouts you never know if you can actually weather it without making a change. Ultimately it comes down to Fertittaâs patience and loyalty to his buddy being tested.
Lol I can envision there being a disconnect between what our admin and Holgo think a transitional year looks like. He certainly sees the actual games and where the team is at differently than many.
He will be fired if he tries to pull that stunt. Even Pezmanâs low expectations of making a bowl looks out of reach
Pezman of all people should know that the team looks bad. He was a captain and played football here. This guy knows football!!
