If Houston was in Michigan’s positon would the Big XII given us that second?
I am an old man, I know the truth.
Let’s discuss.

No.
We already know what would happen as it happened, or didn’t happen in our case, against UT a few years ago.
The next time we get the advantage of a call will be the first time we get the advantage of a call.
not a chance we’d get the second back. Like Kyle said above Big 12 cheated us out of an EASY 1/2 yard+ on video against UT. So no. not a a chance. With as mad as I was about the Michigan call you still have to give Michigan credit for completing a 50 yard Hail Mary. Its not like they got a retry on a 2 pt conversion for a win or something.
Now we’re making up hypothetical boogeymen to be mad at!
Its finally football season, we’re 1-0, and many of you can’t stop bitchen. It makes Coogfans a suckier place to be.
I would hope U of H is never given that second. Any Michigan fan that considers that a win should be ashamed of themselves much like the astros fans on their wins in their cheating season.
Western Michigan, with that win; had a legit chance to play in the playoff if they win out; now that’s gone. Michigan will be lucky to go .500 this year, they are average. In terms of their football history, losing this game would be nothing to them.
No one, especially in Houston; given the astros peculiar ways; would want this scenario.
Speaking of Michigan and UH, UH has played Michigan three times in football. All three matchups were played in Ann Arbor, Michigan:
September 26, 1992: Michigan won 61-7, Head Coach John Jenkins
September 25, 1993: Michigan won 42-21, Head Coach Kim Helton
September 6, 2003: Michigan won 50-3, Head Coach Art Briles
It probably wasn’t even a second, more like tenths of a second.
If football is going to pull this stunt, then all outdoor game clocks should be replaced with clocks that display tenths of a second, like basketball.
Otherwise, stadium and home television viewers will speculate that something nefarious is at work.
ZERO is ZERO, all the tenths are gone.
The issue is that it takes a second, or tenths of a second, for the electronic signal to travel from the control booth to the stadium sign.
IMO, it’s simply a reason to prolong the game.
P2 politics at work.
The first two games you mentioned we were on near death penalty probation or the results of it. Think of a swimmer trying to swim against a major current. He/she is not going to break the world record, far from it.
I knew the probation was coming. Right on cue.
Shame we don’t play them this year.
Watching the end of this game reminded me of the ‘79 Cotton Bowl against Notre Dame. I feel for the Western Michigan fans.
You can’t post this without mentioning it JLCoog.
B1G is now R1G.
NOPE… NFW… NEVER… not ever
Almost no one would have gotten that second. Texas, maybe Notre Dame. Thats it.
The signal travels much faster than that. From control booth to scoreboard is under a millisecond.
