Might Not Be An Independence Bowl in 2024

Marshall just withdrew from the game, finding a 5-7 team would be difficult according to McMurphy

Are you saying there’s a chance? :joy:

Marshall is an extreme example of why there needs to be limitations in the Transfer Portal. I am in favor of athletes having freedom of choice to attend any school they want. When it comes to athletic eligibility, I think it is reasonable to give athletes one transfer and retain eligibility immediately. Beyond one transfer, require the athlete to sit out one year before they become eligible in a P4 program. This is not earth shattering. This was the rule before the NCAA became the wild west of transfers.

How many of those former Marshall players will find out there’s no landing place for them? For some of those guys it’ll be a giant game of musical chairs and they’ll be left out in the cold, either begging for Marshall to let them return, walking on somewhere, or dropping down a level or two.

A few P4 calls ups & better G5 spots.
The rest are going to S Miss w Marshall HC.
He is looking to gut them.
All his Marshall players have an invite to Hatties Vegas.

Surely So. Miss already has a lot of their own players. Arent there limitations as to total number on the FB team? Unless they forget recruiting completely and just give schollies to Marshall guys. Talk about a bizarre situation.
