Milos Uzan & Jojo Tugler

I am not sure how the roster make up will be next year, but I think the way it will go is back to the basics of defense defense defense. We just have to pray we have enough offense emerge from the remaining cast next year.

I think Mercy and Harwell will be fine leading the offense. Adding the top rated big next year should help our inside presence. Tugler outta he back to give us 24 minutes and 4 fouls a game. We need a Cryer/Sharp type otherwise we’ll lose a lot of games in the same way we lost today - i.e. 1-2 possession game where we didn’t score for 10 minutes.

I keep saying it, Kingston is not doing well playing with Milos. Hes a turnover machine. Jojo has no offense, and we have no guys on the bench who can score. Multiple guys were off their man and lost, they blew by us multiple times.

Cris and Emmanuel are the only ones who did anything today, even Ced helped at some point and went out after the foul…

Im going to say something that’s going to piss a lot of people off and i don’t care. Fact is Sampson needs to stop calling plays for Tuggler altogether.

He has zero control of the ball in the low post and has very little finesse. All of the stock and time should have been invested in Cenac post offense and maybe even working at a fade away jumper. See Paul Pierce. Cenac could pull that off. Tuggler absolutely not.

This team isn’t winning anything without more offensive production from the 5. Too streaky of a shooting team.

Sorry if it’s been posted but why did Ramon Walker not play?

Totally agree.

Jojo is not just a foul machine. He has no signature offensive moves and thus everything is an adventure when he shoots. The guy plays hard and he prevents a lot of drives from going for points but going from Roberts and Francis to Jojo and Sahko is a major drop-off.

Francis was a beast - I had always said it. He grew more in the forced role reduction last year than jojo has in 3 seasons.

I wanna like Tuggler so bad man and i do but the fouls just don’t make sense. I also think he’s developed a reputation and refs are calling some iffy ones. He’s gotta figure that part out.

Games like today are the reason we were blessed to have Roberts. If our offense was struggling, we could bounce the ball to him and he was good for at least 10. That’s the game right there.

Why we haven’t gotten Cenac going in the low post is beyond me.

And what happened to the PICK AND POP? It was working and I don’t think we called it once this game.

Mind boggling.

Tugler no offensive threat inside

Sampson has said multiple times that Cenac is not a low post player, but could be developed I think

Lol when? But we’ve called plays for Tuggler? Insanity.

Does jojo come back next year?

Are we really in a funk right now or is it we are in the midst of a horrific three game journey against top 10 teams?
And in reality, outside of beating Tech at home, who is the best team we have beaten to date?
We are now 0-3 against the top 3 Big 12 teams since that win at home against the Red Raiders and heading to a play a ticked off and embarrassed Kansas team.
I have not given up on this team and still have hopes of everyone coming together, but after today I kind of get the feeling that we got caught young and got beat by a better prepared team.
Our team is supposed to be built on defense but Arizona shredded us a hot knife in butter today.
It turned out the Wildcats caused the turnovers.
We are getting late in the season and we have had enough of lessons learned. It is time to man up.
I was once again disappointed with our bench. Sahko plays hard, but let’s face it he is a mediocre sub at best. But with JoJo having an awful season, he has had to play more than expected.
Harwell and McCarty both have talent, but it just hasn’t shown coming off the bench. Mercy is Mercy. Three minutes today and one point tells us what we need to know.
I am hoping that our younger guys have learned the past two losses what big, physical teams play like.
Oh well, beat Kansas and get on a run and hope we can finish out the year with no more scoring droughts like we have seen in our last two losses.

I’ve said this before, but to me, JoJo is not NBA draftable. He cannot stay on the floor. He has a very limited skill set and the talent in the NBA would eat him alive.

Sampson really needs to open the bag a bit more. He just has to. Look at UA who can play BOTH good offense and defense. We can’t even run a good pick n roll. It is such a restrictive philosophy when we got so much talent.

Just got home from watching a little baseball. Glad I left the baseball game when I did. :slightly_frowning_face:
Without going thru a 1000 posts, this has probably already been discussed.

We are a tired team. The opponents have zero respect for our inside game. Our guards have to work way too hard to get a shot because our opponents know we won’t be working any pick and rolls or other plays to take away the outside pressure. It’s exhausting. Towards the end I focused on our guards/forwards away from the ball. They were tired and hurt from trying to make inside plays and getting manhandled.

The last two games were great examples how good coaches exploit that.

Good observations!

Last year Milos ran Point and passed to excellent 3 point shooters Cryer and Sharp.

This season Milos has taken Cryer’s spot as Flemings runs point.

Milos is no Cryer at shooting 3’s.

A drop off.

They scored 73 vs us, they average 88, they have scored less than 75 twice in 30 games prior to tonight. We lost, but that’s not exactly shredding our defense.
