Why would ESPN want to put Minnesota in the playoffs when they can have Alabama, LSU, Georgia, and Clemson.

It wouldnât matter. If they win out, the Golden Gophers would be undefeated and will have beaten top 4 teams Penn State and Ohio State, ranked Iowa State, and won the B1G. The CFP committee would not be able to leave Minnesota out without incurring a congressional investigation.

I agree, but you mean Iowa not Iowa State. They would also have a win against ranked Wisconsin as well.
That said, I donât think they can stick with Ohio State. I would love to see it happen though.
Well ESPN better expand the playoffs to 8 teams. An undefeated Minnesota and Baylor will be in it.
