Chronicle showing its hate for UH today with the following headline based on betting odds for Texans potential HC replacement if O’Brien is fired: UH coach, Oilers legend among potential O’Brien replacements. He is way down on the odds list but they’re posting this like he is a leading candidate and it’s a done deal. Maybe they should do this for Tom Herman at UT.

Just don’t let Herman’s wife see your tweet. That could get messy… Just too much drama. Maybe safer to talk with your local radio hosts and let them handle it. Maybe they could discuss the subject with her over lunch?

I am hearing Dabo Swinney from other sources … he coached Watson to a nat’l championship afterall … and has ALWAYS had a great defense …
If the Texans can’t beat a pathetic falcon team this Sunday … then the rumors WILL REALLY pick up …

Dabo is a great HC but he is one Brent Venables loss away from being mediocre to poor on defense like the rest of us in college football. I do think Venables will follow Dabo if he were to sign with the Texans. He has made it clear that he is loyal to Dabo after repeatedly saying he wants to remain a DC and turning down a handful of prestigious HC positions.
For me the two best coaches in college are the Oklahoma coach and Ohio St one. I have sour a bit on coach Swinney
The Texans have scored 7, 13 and 10 in their last three home games going back to their 21-7 playoff loss to Indianapolis last season – beating only JAC by 1-point with a rookie QB and maybe only because the JAC coach went for 2 rather than going to OT. If you cannot score 2 TDs at home, you are probably going to lose.

I dont know that this bothers me. I think it raises the profile for our program for our coach to be desired. What’s damaging is if that talk actually lures a coach away. I say let em talk.

The part that bothers me is the headline is based on obscure betting odds and he’s way down on the list with the oddsmakers. It’s not based on anyone saying he’s being considered but showing his picture makes it look like he’s the leading contender for the job.
