There’s a fourth type - The fan who follows the local teams and alma mater and watches/attends games as occasion permits, but doesn’t schedule their life’s activities around sports.

I watch college sports more than pro, my friend is the exact opposite, he’s all pro sports and very little college.
What the hell are those 62% doing with their lives?!?
My guess is they’re getting absolutely jacked.

Just as likely is they are hiking or playing ultimate frisbee, which is awesome by the way.
I remember playing ultimate in law school. I was talking with some of the other players, and started talking about football. The other players not only seemed disinterested, but actually disgusted by it.
I hate to say this, but I think it is a combination of jealousy, envy, snobbery, with a small amount of racism mixed in.
It boggles my mind that there can be so much money spent on advertising for the nfl and nba when most people aren’t interested.
If not for UH football I’d be at saturday ballets since nightlife after the performance is better than on a Thursday opening night.

People not interested in sports, what do they do in their free time:
*probably into video games
*or some type of engineering (enjoy hobbies like working on cars)
*or watch alot of Netflix, streaming services
*or play an instrument, like guitar
I went to school with some of these people

the more it became only about money, even the pga changed the rules by the pga top players so they make more and its harder for those not at the top to get there; i stopped on the pros except locals.i still watch college as its the best, but espn’s sportcenter used to be a mainstay; cant remeber the last time i sat thru a sportscenter hour.
To quote the great Canadian TV comedy, Letterkenny: “Hiking, hiking, hiking… that’s just an a-hole’s word for walking. I wasn’t born yesterday.”
