Wrong on so many levels.
Mandate for everyone to buy electric cars is not reality. Incentivizing by offering tax credits so that more electric cars replace ICE cars and the pollution that comes with them, providing a benefit to anyone breathing air is reality is not the same thing.
Wanting to use less fossil fuels while using plastics, medicines, building materials and chemicals, that are made from fossils fuels, for which is no substitute, therefore no choice are not mutually exclusive nor hypothetical.
No one is crying.
Exaggeration is a sign of weak argument.
Transition to more clean energy away from pollution doesnât mean immediate and total elimination of anything.
The more electric cars there are the better for the environment.
Someone with a portfolio heavy in O&G may be somewhat biased about any the above indisputable facts.
" prior administrationâs electric vehicle (EV) mandates aimed to significantly increase the sales of zero-emission vehicles, requiring up to 56% of new vehicle sales to be electric by 2032".
simple google search.
Itâs called a transition.
But again, an incentive, which is what we had, is different than a mandate. Every ICE that is replaced by an EV is a benefit for everyone.
Ignoring or dismissing or disregarding pollution is stupid. Itâs a hell of a hill to die on.
Petroleum is too valuable to burn as there are alternatives for it in regard to fuel. There are no alternatives for the other uses.
Conservation is smart. The future is EVs not ICE,
China doesnât care about pollution. They are just using the same playbook that made the US a powerhouse.
You mean this ?
In an effort to accelerate the transition to clean transportation, President B iden has announced a new goal to have 50 percent of new car sales be electric vehicles by 2030. While the executive order signed today does not mandate that the goal is reached, several major automakers have released statements in support of the E.O., pledging
Yup. And regarding the so called âev tax incentivesâ thatâs just me buying someone else a car. Why should I be forced to do that? If you want an electric car because you think that youâre saving the planet then go buy one.
So what we have is a completely non-binding âmandateâ, with no consequences and some âsuper duper promisesâ from car companies?
You know what that is? Nothing, a whole bunch of nothing. Unless you need to be outraged.
And on the tax credits. I also donât have cancer why do my tax dollars need to go fund that BS research? They need to research their own cancers.
Youâre forced to pay for cleaner air for everyone not something like a second refrigerator for anybodyâs man cave.
Youâre forced to pay for NASA, the military, roads, bridges, law enforcement, hospitals, prisons, schools and at least a hundred others things.
People only get angry when someone else gets a tax break if it âthreatensâ their way of life.
This is about oil.
They also had tax incentives for hybrids and diesels.
Yeah but this particular one irks me. Why should I have to help you buy an ev? The entire premise of evâs is preposterous to begin with. We donât need evâs. We DO need all of the other stuff that was mentioned above that my taxes go towards.
And Iâm against those for the same reasons. Did you forget that we are 40 trillion in debt?
Youâre helping me, you and everyone else breathe cleaner air. Thatâs why.
Good lord. Speaking of exaggerations. Every time an ev is purchased according to this boardâŠ

EV tax credits totaled $1billion
Oil subsidies totaled $28billion
ICE (immigration enforcement) $28billion
Military $1trillion
Roads and infrastructure $688 billion
Link?
Here we go again. Oil companies do not receive subsidies, they get tax breaks. Just like you do. How bout you stop taking your income tax deductions and credits?
You could also just move to another place that has less people. Less people therefore Less cars therefore by your logic better air.
