Moving to electric vehicles will dull recessions currently inflated by oil

Amazing video of an EV with electric doors and folks in danger on the inside not being able to get them open to escape. They were barely able to pull them out alive through the windows in time.

That ‘is’ an amazing video

One of the reasons I haven’t bought a Tesla yet.

Demand says U.S. drivers and manufacturers moving away from EVs.

As EV’s take over the world expect our ICE vehicles to continue rising in cost due to lower production volume while EV’s go down in cost worldwide due to higher production volume. (Long term prediction.)

Yeah, it doesn’t appear to be anytime in the near future for sure. EVs have some major hurdles to overcome.

“Across the auto industry, fully electric vehicles represented 19.5% of European sales last year and just 7.7% of new U.S. car sales.”

Looks like around 93 percent of American car buyers are anti EV. HMMMM

Yeah, that’s not what that means. Am I missing the sarcasm here?

No just someone bad at whatever it is they’re trying to do

What does it mean then obi-Wan?

It means they didn’t buy one. I’m not anti the things I don’t buy. I just decide not to buy them for whatever reason.

In this example, I don’t have an EV. That doesn’t make me anti-EV.

This is catastrophic for the group. The EU is 100% to blame. They are letting in chinese ev’s. By doing so the European auto makers are now on life support.
It is inconceivable that the EU is letting this happen. It is as if the EU is creating its own demise. The EU would have an entire auto industry move to another continent or being bought by chinese companies. It is criminal in my book. This is a reminder that it can’t happen here in any circumstances.

Yeah, that’s an improper conclusion to draw from those facts.

I’m pro-EV because they are just so much more energy efficient ( hard to beat an electric motor utilizing a basic force of nature vs a chemical
combustion contraption that produces mostly unused hot gases) and less polluting in my living space. But yeah, I own exactly zero EVs. Why, because my ICE vehicles are paid for and still relatively reliable. But next vehicle replacement cycle, EVs will be my first choice.

That sounds panicky. Let’s look at the numbers for 2025.

How many Chinese EVs do you see in that data ? Sure their percentage of
growth is high, but I wouldn’t be too alarmed by it. Competition will force EU
car makers to make better and lower priced vehicles. If/when the EU carmakers
are in trouble, the government can impose tariffs to protect their market from
lower cost Chinese models. Nothing to panic or get worked up over at this point.

I’m haven’t bought a pick up. Does that make me anti pickup?

You realize in China and EU, EVs are already the number 1 type of vehicle.
The US will lag behind in an important technology change and be stuck in
last century solutions. Not good. Bad policy will do that to the country.

It has nothing to do with that. Do you know what the pirce of gas is in Europe vs the U.S.?
What is it nrgcoog?
By the way, electricity cost is going way up in Europe and has been for a while.

I don’t think Chris’s characterization of the EU automakers as being on “life support” is particularly incorrect. Though it likely isn’t solely becuse of Chinese made EV’s. It may have to do with global competitiveness which would include competition from China’s EV’s, and things like US tarriffs, as well.

So tariffs in Europe are okay? Same for USA, right?
