I really don’t understand this. I thought the idea of Twitter/x was having a town square like discussion. This is just another move that reduces engagement.
Of course it does, while ignoring anything actually spammy or unsafe.
He’s not wrong.
He makes a great deal of noise about Brazil but he is silent about China and Russia where his ap is banned.
He is not about free speech, it is just an illusion, in the end he wants power and control in the hands of a few “worthy alpha males” world wide.
Welp, he backed down.
Here’s a good summary of what happened with his fight in Brazil.
No way to know since it isn’t publicly traded anymore. I’m sure it isn’t good. Although with all the political ads right now, it might be better than after the election.
Hmmm…subscription or limits reached at WPost. Assume this is fair summary of the Post story ?
Classic. LOL.
I just listened to a podcast that had two reporters that have covered and know Elon pretty well. They claim twitter is worth less than half of the $40 plus billion he paid for it, and he has zero idea how to run the company. He bought it on a whim, tried to back out, but had to buy it because he signed contracts (no one ever seems to bring that up).
They pointed out that once a tech bro is successful, there is a propensity to think everything they touch turns to gold. Elon was very good at propelling Space X and Tesla to new heights (he came in as an investor, not an inventor), but he is apparently not a good businessman on the social media front.
If an Elon fanboy can explain to me how taking a company, firing 80% of its staff, and still losing over $20 billion in such a short time is business genius, I’m all ears.
That’s been reported before.
That’s been pretty obvious.
I have mentioned that before. Not sure how much was signed contracts but you can’t just make an offer like that on a public company and back away easily.
Yep, ego play. That isn’t just a problem with Tech Bros. (see Tom Herman)
Well you know “they” are keeping advertisers away to hurt Elon.
Elon will sue advertisers until they come back.
Cut that in half again. It’s now at <25%.
Yea I saw that earlier but hadn’t had a chance to post it. Just wild.
A business genius.
