I’m not sure where it came from. Maybe the idea that a tumbleweed town had a football team. However, seeing the devotion and backing they get and have, I realized they were a force to be reckoned with. Who would have thought that Northwest Texas had that pull.
Anyway, I’m here to state that I admire what Texas Tech has done to improve their program and their devotion to their team. Bravo
We need more of that and as we face them this Friday let the best team win. I now renounce my hatred for Texas Tech and embrace them as our brothers unless we face them. Then of course I want their team to drop down and have diarrhea as the game is happening giving the audience a taste of Lubbock.

Texas Tech fans are the most delusional fanbase I’ve ever seen. They overcompensate for their inferiority complex by treating everyone like a threat they need to poke at and cut down. Even when they hit rock bottom, they’d rather gaslight everyone than show an ounce of humility. They’re all Cody Campbell with even less self awareness.

Taco, you could copy that post word for word except change UH for Texas Tech and it would fit a large per cent of our fan base.
I have gotten over hatred for any school out there, yes including UT and aTm. It serves no purpose because it surely doesn’t affect them and only affects me in a negative way.
Of course that doesn’t mean I have to actually pull for them against anyone they play. However, due to all of my in-laws being aggies (seven of my nieces and nephews graduated from there, I will pull for aTm, especially when they play UT – except when they play LSU which is my 2nd favorite team.

I don’t see any parallels. We complain about everything our admin does and are downright pessimistic lol. How is that anything like tech? Just look at the Sorby situation. Only tech handles that situation that way. They think their 1 B12 title makes them Texas.

I’ll just never have very strong feelings about Tech one way or the other. I guess it’s because they were mostly irrelevant during much of my lifetime, but until we play in a conference championship game or playoff game I just can’t work up much emotion for them, except for the week the Coogs are playing them.
Now it is irritating that we can’t seem to beat Tech lately, but I actually dislike SMU more in the “non-horn-aggie” category of teams I can’t stand.

I guess I’m the exception. I always found it amusing albeit a bit silly. Perhaps the fact that my house is 10 miles from the Rio Grande River plays a part in that. Just never have understood the vitriol.
Edit: I won’t be surprised if that behavior takes root at UTRGV Vaquero games…
Screw them. Their fans are trash and their school is a sub par institution.

Hatred is a strong word. I dont really hate anyone.
I respect any program that has pride in itself. Their football team & sports program helped put Lubbock on the map.
I’ve visited a few times. Nice people. Slower pace of life out there

During the SWC years, I never had a loathing for Tech. Then my beloved daughter attended Techsas, and met her future husband. Unless the Coogs were playing them, I would say, sure, “Go Tech.”
Last year, their fans flipped a switch. I got fed up with that idiotic tortilla-flinging thing, and suddenly I couldn’t stand those tumble-weed-driven, sand-bowl-coated fans.

For me, I hate Texas, Texas A&M, Texas, Tech, SMU, Baylor, Notre Dame, Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, Florida State, and any school in the SEC not named Vanderbilt, and every school UHLaw97 attended, except UH.

Tech in the 2020s will be like SMU in the 1980s, a great team on paper but won’t crack the blue bloods or national championship contenders list.
