NBA Draft Combine

Why is the cut off line 6’4?
The difference between 6’5 and 6’4 isn’t enough to validate good and bad rebounder

Kingston, Milo’s and mercy are the only “6’4” guards I can think off in the Sampson era… and one hasn’t really played

The .5 to 1 inch difference between Hinton, Dejon, Edwards, taze Moore shouldn’t be the line to make one good or not

I also could good get into I’m technicality that we intentionally let Kingston get defensive rebounds to push the fast break faster (where a big could have easily gotten it) towards the end of the season… he wasn’t winning rebounds the way Edwards/ Hinton etc were

Again Sampson noted that all our starting guards were not good rebounders just 3 weeks ago… and how he wanted to change that next year

You’re not sucking me in…

He will still go lottery

But the media is already pushing the acuff over him narrative who had 4 inches longer wing span

I’ve seen 4 posts talking about him being one of the biggest losers of the day…

He’ll stil be a millionaire but the potential of him sneaking up to the #4 pick took a huge hit today

Again Sampson said we didn’t have good rebounding guards in recent interviews :sob::sob:… is Sampson sucking you in?

I heard Acuff was better all season long

They’ve had Acuff and Wagler over Kingston for about 6 weeks now. Nothing new. Let’s see them hoop this week though. Still a lot of time. And honestly if the 9th pick is a better fit for him, then who cares

J Walk is going to be in the NBA for another decade probably… he’s putting together a solid beginning to his career.

I agree, but I still think Cenac has more potential…heck I wish them both the best because they are Coogs…

I wish seen would’ve been elite from the baseline or even mid from the baseline just for one game in the tournament.

FWIW Marcus Sasser height is 6’2" his wingspan is 6’7". Shead is 6’ 0.25" and 6’3".
Steph Curry measurements are virtually the same as Kingston’s. Donovan Mitchell is listed at 6’2" and has a wingspan of 6’10". There is no combine measurement for heart.

This is exactly why you don’t draft on measurements. Yes, the wingspan is short but that clearly didn’t effect his abilities. He was a much more effective player than Cenac was who had elite measurements :man_shrugging:

i just wish the coogs would start listing their player heights as what they really are, the way the nba measures them. they did that with cenac; i wonder why not with kingston (or mercy, as i continue to believe). what’s the point of listing them as taller than they are? is this supposed to intimidate opponents?

its probably in keeping with the players wishes

Measurements are part of the process. Any negative that teams can use to drive down the rookie contract. I say look at the college performance. Look at the tape.

teams can use college height measurements as a wedge in contract negotiations? any player can be measured by anyone at any point so that does make any sense

Acuff and Fleming have the exact same Standing Reach even though Acuff has the 4 inches in wingspan. Dude cannot move his shoulders up and down

Anyone remember former Nebraska football Center Dave Rimington? Here was a player that was a 2x All American, 2x Outland Award winner, Lombardi Award winner, and all anyone was focused on pre-NFL draft was his short arms for a Center.

There is such a thing as going overboard with measurables.

Emanuel is doing quite well so far at the combine.

He measured well being 6’ 2.75 without shoes and 208 lbs. (I was worried it would be closer to 6’1.5 and 220lbs) So he is about 6’4 in shoes which is great as a 2 guard. He has been one of the top 3 shooters in multiple drills
