Thanks for the link. Now I understand what the “units” are. I had no idea what you guys were talking about the other day on another post.

Tournament units explained in video form.

Houston is not only making the Big 12 look good in the tournament, but it is also bringing in more money to the conference than any other Big 12 basketball program.

In the last 2 years, UH has earned 8 units which is about $16M to the Big 12. $$$

Big12 as the highest $ per team…

Go Coogs… Keep the $ coming.

Anyone know how the payouts work for final four and championship game?

All 4 teams get credited with one unit each, but no units for making it to the championship game.

WHAT???

NO UNITS for the championship game???

That’s lame. There should be a DOUBLE BONUS for that!!!

I know, but that’s what they said in the article and video above.

The Big 12 will have 20 units for games played.

Rd. 64 = 7 units
Rd. 32 = 6 units
Sw. 16 = 4 units
EL. 8 = 2 units
FF. 4 = 1 unit

I agree, but I suppose the amount of money that will be generated from the good press is worth it.
