What a game.
We have the Big 12 sack leader (Ceaser) and the Big 12 recieving yards leader (Sam Brown). Pretty cool.
Ceaser is a grown man how good would that dude be if he had some help in the front 7.
Caesar was awesome.
Unsung hero of the game was Mathis. Fantastic TD catch, solid running and made some important blocks
All hail Ceaser!
He’s always been awesome. He just gets tired or injured because he has to do everything. I will credit Early and Belk they’ve done better putting him in favorable downs and positions this year.
He should make all B12 conference and remind the other conference teams UH does have players.
We also have a WR who’s top 5 in total TDs with 8(golden) and we have the leading interior sack leader in big 12. We also have 2 guys top 5 in big 12 in ints. We also have the best pass blocker graded in the nation. We also have a QB who leads big 12 in completions and is top 5 in TD and yards for QBs in big 12. To make a long story short we have players not coaches. This is 100% a big 12 roster.
We have skill position talent on offense we just suck up front especially in the interior.
We have some good players on defense but we have no depth so eventually they wear down and thats when teams start gashing us.
Caesar crossed the Rubicon yesterday.
I’m speaking of the entire season we have struggled to run the ball all year. Its bad 3.8 yards a carry and we didn’t exactly play some great defenses in the OOC games.
I agree with Jerry. Unfortunately when you pass every play you’re doomed. Its like using Artillery the whole battle. Eventually they zero in on you.
There were more QB runs than RB runs yesterday I guess they finally realized we have to think outside the norm to run the ball because we aren’t moving anyone trying to run conventially.
Lets just say Dana isn’t a computer. He learns slow.
He does look how long it took him to open up the offense last year.
The dropoff between 1st and 2nd team DL is significant. Whenever Caesar, Dot and Caldwell need a blow, the opposing O Line gets 3-5 yards of push immediately.
That is a depth problem, which is a talent problem.
