This could really create some upheaval in basketball rosters this year.
Tech potentially gained three starters through this injunction.
Geez, man! These kids need to move on and get on with life. ![]()
I mean yes but when there’s a potential million plus dollar paycheck involved. I’d try and stick around too
What’s the point of having literally any rules around eligibility?
To break/challenge them I guess?
BYU just got a crafty serviceable starting center from this.
.
College is paying more then first job (if not NBA) so players are coming back. Why not get another year of college, another year playing basketball and make more money.
Why not do that when you’re in your late 20s after you’ve given the NBA a shot and it didn’t work out?
If the courts won’t enforce an NCAA rule that was in place until 5 for 5, then why would any rule around eligibility be enforceable? It’s senseless.
I find it curious that there isn’t some groundswell of accusations against the judge’s integrity in this case. Where’s the outrage? The rule is very clear, and it doesn’t harm anyone in that it maintains the status quo for players who exhausted their eligibility in 2026. The fact that the rule doesn’t prolong their ride on the college gravy train does not provide any legal basis for ignoring it.
Regardless, the injunction remains in effect pending the next round of appeals at the 10th Circuit.
This is interesting - the NCAA prevailed in its Ohio case. Guys like MJ Collins (Cincy) would still qualify under the Colorado judge’s order as long as it remains in place, though. But this does introduce some uncertainty for schools planning around these guys.
I think the NCAA’s reply in the Colorado case was due today, so there may be some movement on that one this week.

Class of 2022 is no longer eligible under the newest court order.
So does that mean no extra year for JoJo?
JoJo is fine - this is his 4th year. And he would qualify for a 5th year if he wanted to do that since he graduated in 2023.
Weaver - maybe not.
This is going to hurt Texas Tech way more than us, but I’ll be sad to miss out on what Weaver can bring to this team. There’s still time to sort it out before basketball starts.
