Loved the energy. Did not love that I couldn’t understand what she was saying half the time bc she was trying so hard to be loud and not understood.

I did not realize Lane was an option then (he wasn’t)
He was an option when UH stupidly hired Major.
Eta I was not a huge Willie Fritz fan when he was hired, thankfully, I was wrong.

Yeah, there were also some audio issues where the sound would cut off & on, so that didn’t help either.
I’m hoping it was 1st game nervousness (and audio issues) that made her debut awkward (sometimes it seemed like she didn’t know what to say or how to improvise - that’s where Chinedu’s stand-up comedy experience really helped him).

I don’t know why UH doesn’t just use a student for this role. I’m sure it would be a big deal to someone hoping to break into the business.
Wasn’t great in my opinion. Also I thought the in game experience was supposed to mimic how it was our last home game last year. What happened?

I think the bigger issue is the overall production. It seems like they didn’t know when she was supposed to be talking vs when a video was going to play. There was overlap many times.
We only get 6 chances a year at this. It has to be right every time.

The Google Gemini sponsored trivia was pretty clunky and cringe, not necessarily the fault of the host, but the simulated AI was so slow… they didn’t even have time in that bit to congratulate the participant for getting the correct answer. Hopefully the university was well compensated by Google
I didn’t attend the game yesterday so I can’t speak about the in-game host specifically, but I will say, as far as total quality management for complete game-day fan experience, everyone involved with the production needs to take a work trip out to Vegas during hockey season and pay atrention to what the Golden Knights do. Best complete game experience I’ve ever seen in any sport.
I’ll give it season before we make any judgement.
We have only experienced Chinedu and Lauren the past decade.
Chinedu still does stand up comedy and local promotions for businesses.
Lauren does the Houston Rockets and Dynamo games.
