Very happy for Sean. This is a great opportunity for him.
Mega congrats!
I hope he does great things there!
Their pitching will surely improve.
Lamar’s Team ERA conference rankings the last four seasons:
2023 - #1
2024 - #1
2025 - #2
2026 - #3
The Southland Pitcher of the Year for both 2025 and 2026 is from Lamar (Chris Olivier).
I expect Sean will have strong pitching staffs. If he produces better rankings and honors than that, it will be a tremendous achievement.
That was what gave up twenty walks in two games?!?
Hell the SLC must be a glorified American Legion conference.
Sorry, just makes me sick to my stomach.
We’ll know in a couple of years if we hired the right guy.
Personally, I will reach out to both as I have kids that will be solid at both levels.
It’s a D1 conference. And I presume Sean is excited and grateful for the opportunity to be the HC of a Southland Conference program.
I’m sure he is excited for a HC job….i know it’s not the job he wanted but he will excel.
Great hire by Lamar for sure.
I think he will do well, and that it will open the doors to major D1 jobs.
Let’s get a UH vs Lamar series scheduled for each of the next several years. That would be very interesting.
Congrats to Sean.
I’m talking about the pitching staff you’re glorifying
What post of mine are you replying to?
When David Pierce took the Sam HC job, he inherited an SLC team that finished 5th with an RPI rank of 81. He led them to three 1st place finishes and three at-large bids in his three years there.
Sean might not do that well, but I’d bet the house it doesn’t take him nine seasons as their HC to make it to his first regional via auto bid .
I’m sure he’ll do well. Davis left that program in great shape, and perhaps Allen can take Lamar to even greater heights.
My parents are both Lamar grads, so I tend to root for Lamar against anyone except UH.
Great hire by Lamar…going to be interesting watching both programs progress
It remains to be seen what kind of shape the Lamar program is left in after the portal activity.
Hopefully SA can convince the kids he wants to stay.
The Lamar pipeline seems to be open with Davis bringing the two best players off the regional team to UH.
Wait. Two?
Besides the catcher, who else?
