That’s about 11-12k per player right? I believe there are 85 total on the roaster if I’m not mistaken
The question is whether this is split 85 ways or 105 ways.
Wow! Yeah this is great! I read that the Arizona Wildcats have discussed that an annual 4 million in NIL for the athletes was competitive and that was nearly a year ago. I’ll bet the bar is rising quickly. This deal helps us to keep pace!
McCaskill’s comments lead me to believe it includes walk-ons. I don’t know how the split will work.
NIL for walk-ons has probably been the most underappreciated side effect of the whole thing.
that’s huge! Landon is going to be a sports agent one day. He has done a great job facilitating the deals. The thing that strikes me about Linking Coogs, is sure we have deals like these that come from alumni, but Landon is also getting these guys big exposure and negotiating deals with huge brands like Doritos, Bose, etc. Feels less slimy and more the spirit of what these rules were intended to be.
I think he is one already. He can have his own firm down the line no doubt
I don’t think the NCAA considers him an agent, which is what makes all of this legal. But regardless I mean a pro sports agent. Negotiating more that just endorsements.
Nil Agent.
Does anyone know how NILs relate to the player value on On3? Some of the names that have been floated for UH have an annual On3 value of around $50,000 and others are under $10,000.
the on3 valuations are stupid. Its supposed to be a market valuation of what the site thinks the player is worth. Its not based on any information about what that player is currently receiving.
makes me wanna go sue someone
When can fans contribute, tho
Fans contributing directly to players can end really badly especially for the crazy fans of blue blood schools who would resort to violence if the player who got paid has a bad performance.
Then gamblers can easily pay off athletes and if they don’t do what they say, it can end badly.
I’m sad that kids these days will not knows the feeling of getting paid off in a McDonald’s bag though.
Wow ……that’s incredible.
Now if our NIL collective can bust into those Fortune 500 companies all over town it could be game over.
