New polls are out

The team usually comes out flat at home when they are ranked and stadium is less than 30K. It is what it is. Or, we are outnumbered like UT.

We were not outnumbered by UT.

That is an interesting point but I do see why he did it. Having 55 new players to gel is a monumental task. Putting these new players in a high pressure situation early in the season tell you a lot about your squad. That immediate pressure translated into a “must focus” attention to what is facing these new players. Doing it that way shows us that these players have responded.

Someone posted maybe the best post since the bcs was created.
The post was about the so called AP journalist/voter with its conference’s affiliation.
Please repost it if possible.
This affiliation is inexcusable. The voting is rigged by nature and it affects
the cfp ranking. This is what is most damaging to the BIG12. This is on Yormark to address RIGHT NOW and in the off season.
If there is one reader in America that does not think these polls are rigged they clearly failed to graduate from Elementary school.

Observations:

  • Not much FOX-associated media is represented, while there are plenty of NBC, CBS, and ABC/ESPN.
  • Most of the AP voters who cover the Big Ten and SEC went to Big Ten and SEC schools - not so much for the ACC and BIG 12.
  • For no or G6 coverage, still mostly SEC/TEN alums.

If it hasn’t already, subjectivity will rule the world and that’s a shame.

Not trying to get political or anything.

Outstanding KD91. This has to be taken up by Yorkman. This should not be allowed. Of course the ncaa will do nothing. The regular season is I believe under ncaa’s leadership
YES WHAT LEADERSHIP?

lol, what is the NCAA or the Big 12 going to do about a poll of people who don’t work for them that gets conducted by an entirely separate organization? they have no authority over the AP.

Sure thing 5150Cloogs. Floormack needs to spread the flies.

That is exactly the problem.
Who and why teams gets into the cfp? Granted the cfp is not under ncaa.
Teams get into the cfp in part due to the AP ranking.
By being rigged the AP ranking automatically favors some teams vs others.
The AP ranking should be scrapped altogether until it is truly a fair and square ranking. I know I am dreaming but we are only talking about 10’s of $M’s
no big deal. We are rolling in the dough.

The Coogs will get their shot.

And once they’re in, no “voters” can take it away.

Every ratings system has it’s flaws. The CFP considers the following measures:

  • Strength of Schedule
  • Record Strength
  • Strength of Conference
  • Traditional Pillars
    * Head-to-head results
    * Conference championships won
    * Outcomes against common opponents
  • The Eye Test

To me, that sounds like an objective evaluation process. Rather than attacking the process, teams should create their schedules to maximize their scoring on the CFP metrics. And of course, win games.

Notice of the “incestuous” relationship between the cfp and the ncaa:

For the ncaa to not officially recognize an FBS DIV I National champion and the way they “gush” about the cfp it shows
again what a corrupt organization this is.

So, is it going to be a CFP committee that decides who is in on the new 24 team playoff? Or will the AP and Football Writers poll play a part?

The problem is if you have the same

every week at the top or slightly lower because of a loss or two who do you think the cfp will be made off?

Let’s officially adopt the 24 team playoff before we start analyzing its metrics. The AP and Coaches Polls are completely separate from the CFP. Of course, there is overlap, but the CFP uses its own metric. I have not seen anything as far as how the CFP playoff determination would change with a 24 team playoff, and quite frankly, it is premature, but I think it is safe to say some changes will be required, but the ultimate objective remains the same; have the strongest teams compete for the championship.
