I’d definitely say he is a legit recruit. A recruiting site has his listed as an 89 overall 3 star. I’ll take a wild guess and say he’d be valued higher if he had more size. Fun fact: he is rated basically the same rating that Isaiah Johnson was rated when he signed with Colorado last year. If Colorado can take a small 3 star point guard and turn him into one of the highest rated transfer portal targets after 1 season then surely our coaches can turn this kid into a good player as well
Hope this doesn’t change anything with Alston.
I read he’s the number one point guard in the country!
#1 PG in Nevada
Just gonna point out that 247s rankings of him is nearly identical to Shead when he was in HS. Tyus actually has more impressive offers than Jamal did as well. From what I gather if he was 2 inches taller he’d be a lot higher. That’s fine, in the grand scheme of things, in college, 2 inches height for a PG is not that big of a deal. Also, some people do grow in college. I’m a short man but I was even shorter in HS and grew 3 inches my freshman year.
If anyone is interested here’s a highlight clip: https://youtu.be/M9HBdWuZGZQ?si=OT1mCf0TSNTitxlN
My thoughts are he has loads of energy, seems to be able to take advantage of defenders switching off. Doesn’t have elite burst but seems to be able to wriggle through traffic well. Really crafty player. Lefty but I saw him switch to the right on a few drives. Seems to have a decent midrange shot too. There were a couple of blocks in there too. No clips of him playing defense outside of those couple of blocks and a steal however it seems like he never stops moving so at the very least seems like he will be active. I’m not very good at spotting shooting from and as a highlight video he makes all of his 3s, not sure what kind of 3 point shooter he is but doesn’t seem like a high volume shooter, seems to want to drive more.
No way in the world it affects Lil Skip….personally I think he is the best PG in the nation.
He will start day one like Kingston.
Why would it? Did anything change for Kingston when Milos committed to us?
We are recruiting him, though… Lil Skip…
Just a guess.
Sampson knows more about putting together a roster than do we fans.
A championship roster…?
I’ll see myself out…
lol. Come on, Kyle. He has had at least 3 of those in his time here.
The elite eight year. Hard to plan for losing Marcus Sasser and Tramon Mark
The Sweet Sixteen year we lost to Duke. I fully believe we would have won the natty this year until Shead blew up his ankle.
2025 - don’t really need to say anything here.
Tyus had offers from LSU, UNLV and Creighton. Definitely a legit recruit.
Sampson has been to 3 Final Fours.
All of us hereon, together, have been to zero.
This roster looks as good as the 2025 roster. In fact it is deeper.
We have 5 players to operate the 2 Guard positions. We have 2 at the Small Forward position, and have 4 guys to play the 2 Big Men positions.
The keys are the scoring from Miller and McCarty, who replace Uzan and Sharp.
Very optimistic about this roster.
Somebody’s gotta break his balls… lol
I actually think we could’ve won it the year Michigan beat us, too…
So schools that had his brother at the time and a Creighton offer at the beginning of his freshman season?
What?! But I thought we fans – especially posters – know everything. Are you trying to imply that we don’t?
