SLC would be another pitcher’s paradise. ![]()
I live near Nashville- would love to see a team here, especially an AL team. It would be great to see the ‘Stros every year.
The first time a pitcher throws through snow will change his world!!
SLC jumping in front of Portland in the pecking order would be crazy. They’re already the smallest market in pro sports with 2+ teams; among cities with 3 teams they’d be minuscule. Central Texas should also get a team, but obviously none of the relevant powers that be would allow it.
Been there , done it….the snow was not as bad as the not being able to grip the ball because it was so damn cold.
“Central Texas”
They have an MLS team and a AAA baseball team….they’re good. ![]()
Central Texas also has an NBA team.
We’re counting the Spurs? ![]()
Is there some other way to describe their region of Texas besides “Central?”
To me, San Antonio is more “South Texas” than “Central Texas,” but that’s just me.
North San Antonio is Hill Country and I guess could be described as Central Texas….kinda
But South San Antonio is not IMO.
And I live in SA.
Possibly.
To me, “Central Texas” means places like Greater Austin, Killeen/Fort Hood, Waco, Bryan-College Station, Cameron, etc.
In my own imagination, “South Texas” starts at San Antonio.
If it’s expansion over relocation, then are we primed to see a divisional realignment with 32 teams? Probably something like the NFL?
I wouldn’t say no to a Houston, Texas, Kansas City, Nashville division.
Man, two expansion teams? Pitching is thin, league wide. Two more teams need 24 MLB pitchers means HR records will be threatened
I’ve always thought an NFL team with a stadium located in a place to draw from both Austin and San Antonio would be very successful. Of course we know the reason it will never happen, but it’s fun to think about.
Burrows and Weiss could anchor Salt Lake’s staff.
And BAbreu as their closer
