Oh boy. Probably get more now. Guess I’m in the minority but I don’t like it. If I have to will listen in radio.
What streaming services or cable companies offer Peaccok as a channel in their line up ? I have YouTube TV and it offers 4 or 5 ESPN, fox sports, cbs sports and others but to get Peacock I mdon’t just download a separate app and subscribe, much like Amazon or another stand alone platform. I think originally NBC pushed it to other platforms in order to it some exposure then launched iit as an app . I can think of some other channels that do both like the history channel or nat geo. They are off by some platforms but are also available for subscription as a stand alone .
If they do include you still will have to download the app to use it.
The NFL was paid 110 million to allow Peacock to air one wild card game
so, thats why it was on peacock, its always about the money.
Sickening. Literally.
It’s pro teams where the players play for money and the owners pay them to do it so they can make more money. It has always been about money, most businesses are.
Approx 120 million US Families still use cable as their main way for TV viewing .
Myself for 17+ yrs, I’m DIRECTV- Satellite ( not streaming).
Provides all the channels i need for my Sports entertainment. Have ESPN+ as a separate Streaming option.
It is called capitalism, pretty simple IMO. If you want to watch you spend $6 for a month of peacock. If you don’t want to watch don’t spend the $6. Like some on here have previously stated they pay for Peacock for English premiere league or rugby. Either way it is called capitalism. Pay if you want, don’t pay if you want
The ones who compain that the university doesn’t get tv money like other schools but won’t shell out $10 a month to watch the team on ESPN +
Remember when the Rockets tried pay-per-view to watch playoffs in the Championship years of the 90’s. That was a mistake back then.
Chiefs more of a great regional following even w huge success lately.
Miami limited to mostly South FL.
Wait till get a huge national team like Cowboys (the ideal), Bills, Steelers, few others.
same here, zero cost…espn+ 0 cost apps
I’m skeptical of the “ratings” NFL. I’m sure they have ways of guesstimating viewers on the internet but the game on Peacock smells like someone is pushing the estimated viewership envelope.
One thing with streaming is that you can tell how many people are logged in. Much harder to tell if it is one or multiple watching the stream, but an estimate can be done with proper surveys of those watching.
I am curious as to how many logged in does it take to make it profitable at that price.
Great take on the Peacock Ransom by the NFL, via NY Post: So while Rams-Lions, Sunday night, according to NBC, “peaked at more than 38 million viewers,” NBC again insulted the public with transparent, easily dismissed, fools’ fodder propaganda claiming that a streaming/pay-walled “record-breaking” 23 million watched Miami-KC, an inflated total as greater Miami and Kansas City were able to watch on over-the-air TV.
I don’t like where this is headed.
Nice contribution
