Well, it is that time of year, let the rumor mill run rampant. There are a lot of openings this off-season and it seems a lot of those teams are all in rebuild mode.
Potentially drive up the price and interest (See Herman in 2016) or get their name out there. It’s basically free advertising for the coach and agent for that matter.
The hiring schools want it out there too and the coach could control that to a degree too.

Memphis I do not let him coach the nye6 bowl. I let the people that want to be here coach and play in the biggest game at the school ever. They win that and they are a top 10 team. Dollars to donuts FSU will not be a top 10 team under Norvell.

If Norvell has any integrity at all, he coaches this team in the bowl game. You finish what you start before you move on.

Frost had a connection to Nebraska. A HUGE connection. If frost was hired by Michigan he should have been shown the door. You give them the courtesy for the hometown kid going home not pimped our coach cashing in.
He’ll last 3 years tops at FSU.

Ohio State let Tom Herman coached the championship game and Frost got the same courtesy.
