Off-Season Workouts!

Boxing reference, but one that applies here. I love that our guys are focused on the off-season work to get better, but everyone else is doing the same thing. We won’t know until after the first kick of the season how good this team really is. Are we a 6-6 to 8-4 team, or are we going to challenge for the AAC championship?

Well, teams do get better and sometimes worse as the season goes on. I like Sampson’s approach about not getting too elated when you win or to down when you don’t. But, Football doesn’t play 25+ games either so there is less time for a team to get used to themselves in game situations - have to gel much faster.

Before the spring practices , they concentrated on strength training. That was their goal, to get bigger and stronger. Once spring practice started they concentrated on what didn’t work last season, moved some players around and worked on some new schemes. They competed against each other for playing time and that will happen again in the fall. Derek, like most players will speak up when they feel they need to. He isn’t going to sugarcoat anything. He tells us how it really is. They are all tired of losing seasons, all of them, from the coaches to the players. Communication is important and it is encouraged between everyone. The proof is in the pudding this season and they all know they are under the microscope.

H-Town
What is the point of being constantly negative? We are about to start our new season. You have a choice like everybody else. We get on board or we do not. There is no hiding that this season is pivotal for our coaching staff. I am choosing to be 100% behind our entire program. Nothing is given in life. It is now showtime.

Apparently, you only read a fraction of my posts.

No Cary. You have reinvented coogfans and created more anti CDH threads than the entire webster dictionary. Please just please try to be a bit positive.

Of course but do you not want the players to be confident? They didn’t sound at all confident last year. This year everyone has way more energy and is bought it, everyone’s having fun and have really high hopes for the team. That’s a good thing in my book

I post any article I can find about the Coogs. If the majority of those articles are negative, then maybe that should indicate to you how people who don’t wear scarlet-tinted glasses look at the program. I will continue to post any and every article about Coog Football, whether positive or negative.

He was in the portal and now he’s back? Seems odd, but I’m glad.

D’Anthony Jones is a Disruptor and I hope he stays healthy. I enjoyed watching him last year and noticed he was a difference maker

Marcus Jones is going to be elite

Jones is definitely elite on special teams returning punts.

Who is 22 in the video. Roster says it’s a punter from Australia, don’t think so.

And on defense!

There are two #22’s; Jamal Hamilton, WR and Laine Wilkins, P

There are multiple numbers assigned to more than one player.

Jamal Hamilton isn’t even mentioned on the football roster at uhcougars.com. Is he a walk on or recent transfer? He looks pretty good in the video.
