All the endorsements I’m being shown are coming from people with Louisiana ties, mostly la st.
Some might argue that they are inbred endorsements.
Somehow when a baseball opinion that disagrees with pollardsvision is posted, even when the opinion is from someone like Bregman or Schlossnagle that not only “knows baseball,” but moreover, likely knows it better than he does, there’s always a corny excuse, you know, like them being a member of some coaching fraternity.
Does this fraternity have Greek letters, secret handshakes, freemasonic initiation rituals, or what?
As a member of several fraternities, I’m curious.
And even though @Pollardsvision keeps posting the same tired trope about how anyone that disagrees with him either doesn’t know baseball or is somehow otherwise not credible…. he claims that other people somehow aren’t self-aware.

As for being from LA, last I checked, Bregman grew up in New Mexico, and Sclossnagle in Maryland.

Another said it was like hoping for Don Shula and getting Hugh Campbell.
Yet another trashed Davis’ qualifications by saying (incorrectly) that the Southland was one of the worst conferences in D1.

Anyway, I agree with @monceaux who said that hiring Allen would be a continuation of the Noble/Whitting era, and it is time for a break.

I don’t even know that it was a “great” hire.
As I said, I’m not terribly excited, but I’m also not disappointed or outraged as some here appear to be.
It’s certainly not a bad hire, given that, until now, we have never hired a new baseball head coach with recent HC experience in the NCAA tourney.
I can tell you this much though.
Bregman and Sclossnagle think it was a great hire, and I venture to say that both know baseball better than any of us.
So there are definitely credible names that think it’s a great hire.
Please stop going in circles on this. 3 threads have already been closed. A 4th will come with vacations.

Who said he sucks? If you manufacture outrage, you’ll be outraged.
I’ve seen people expressing reservations without saying the guy isn’t any good. And saying you’d rather have seen someone else hired isn’t the same as saying the dude sucks.
If you only want to see cheerleading, then this probably isn’t the place for you.
