Baseball is not the same animal.
By year two we should be in a regional….even as a #3 seed.
Baseball is not the same animal.

UH has historically been an athletics program where nobody cares about us, nobody pays attention to us
but when a coach turns the program around within 2-3 years, the sharks come crawling
So true. You have UT, A&M and Baylor fans put down our program and our school and then they poach our coaches. See Herman, Sumlin and Briles. Go figure.
If that’s true about the # of scholarships UH is giving out compared to other Big12 schools they need to get this fixed immediately.
I get what you are saying because it has been that way for years.
But our basketball coach has not and will not leave….he could have multiple times.
If Willie turns football in to the juggernaut I think he is, he won’t go anywhere else.
If Davis turns baseball around maybe he goes, maybe not……if he turns it around the crowds will come back and excitement will build.
But we are a P4 program in the 2nd/3rd best baseball conference in the country.
We are not in Conference USA or the AAC….gotta stop having that mindset.
Yeah, that is pathetic……Sounds like TW was pulling a Dana.
You’ve made both of these statements at least 27 times each. You want the last word, after you get the last word. Can you stop with the repetition, please?
Uhhhh…not to be rude…but if you don’t mind…I’ll decide how and what I will post, subject to the rules, and the moderators.
Basically…if my posts don’t violate any of the board’s posting guidelines, and a moderator or board owner doesn’t tell me to stop it, I’ll decide how to post.
I give you and other posters the same courtesy, so I’d expect to receive the same in return. Sound fair? I don’t tell other posters what to post or not, although I might strongly criticize what someone says.
All right.
That said, the reason I keep repeating it is because some here have suggested we should expect an immediate turnaround, while others have posted that we have a long way to go.
I’m just making sure that we strike a middle ground between unrealistically hoping for an instant miracle turnaround that we neither expected nor experienced under Sampson, Fritz, or the turnaround tennis coach, and likewise expecting or allowing too much time for a rebuild during which we might fall even more miserably behind.
You seem to be the only one of hundreds (or thousands) of COOGFANS to employ such a nauseating tactic. Most forums are self-policing and don’t need moderators to hold your hand.
You made a comment about the softball coach that you wanted her gone after just 1 year.
I seriously doubt that. I see a lot of redundancy from plenty of posters. In fact, our more negative posters seem to be pretty consistently negative.
But if it really bothers you, you can always put me on ignore. Won’t bother me at all.
For the record though, I never put ANYONE on ignore, even posters that ignore me, or that I would nearly always disagree with, or even not like. Not listening to others means learning less, and at the end of the day, if what someone posts on a message board truly bothers somebody that much…then they might be a little thin skinned.
I’m not.
As for softball, you might want to go back and re-read, because if I remember correctly, I didn’t really post that I wanted her gone after one year. I posted that we should take the private equity money, and buy new coaches, with softball being one possible target if that coach can’t turn things around. That said, she gets two years minimum like everybody else.
Because you want the last word; you said so
I didn’t say I always want the last word.
I simply said sometimes it’s better to let me have it.
Likewise, sometimes it’s better for me to let others have the last word.
Just good advice all around.
The reason I repeated here is for the very reason I stated. Believe me, I know my own reasons for posting better than you.
Thanks, had that video bookmarked, but didn’t want to watch 2 hours to find the baseball part. Thanks to the link to that portion. It made me feel a bit better about the hire, but not where we are when it comes to funding baseball. I thought the one thing Todd was good at was conning alumni out of cash, seems like he wasn’t even doing that at the end.
I wish the GoCoogs videos would have chapters, like nearly every other sports/entertainment YouTube video does.
Sean Allen seems like a good baseball coach….
If we don’t see improvement in the program in Year 1, we hired the wrong guy…not expecting to go dancing but I have faith CWD will change the projection of the program in Year 1…we’ll all know soon enough
Not true.
We regressed in year 1 under Sampson and Fritz.
Didn’t mean that we had made the wrong hire.
In fact, the opposite was true.
Few coaches win in year one of a rebuild.
Ya know, I’m not as optimistic as some.
But one former UH baseball player on the other site said “I haven’t been this hopeful about UH baseball since the days of the Brads.”
I wish I could be that excited, but I’m more of a wait and see guy.
I’ll keep an open mind until the end of year two.
And if Davis wins in year one, he will exceed my expectations.
Not putting money on it though.
At this point, half the posters aren’t debating the coaching hire anymore; they’re just arguing about who gets credit for being angry first.
The civil discussion left the station days ago and is now just two camps lobbing Molotov cocktails at the ashes.
Congrats, fellas. Log the f*ck off and go touch grass.
Gee.
Who were you saying is angry?
