To be clear, I am NOT not saying UH is an embarrassment. I’m saying Texas Tech’s loss embarrassed the Big 12, which we are a member of, and that makes it harder for everyone else in the conference, including us, to get future CFP bids.

The Big 12’s “best” team (undefeated, conference champion, ranked No. 4) not only lost, but didn’t score a single point against a team that didn’t even win its own conference. That makes the Big 12 look weak. So next year when they’re deciding playoff spots, especially if Tech wins the league again, the committee is going to say: “Sure, Tech has to get in because they won the Big 12. But why should we put in anyone else from that conference when their champion isn’t even as good as another league’s No. 3 team? If that’s their best, the rest must be worse.”

That’s the only point I’m making. It’s not about UH being embarrassed, it’s about how Tech’s performance damaged the Big 12’s credibility, which makes it much harder for anyone else in the league to get the benefit of the doubt in future CFP debates.

They did lose to Ariz State.

SEC has the Disney Propaganda machine on full blast pushing the narratives regarding so called SEC strength of schedule garbage.

I will say, however, that in many cases, the BIG and Big 12 bought this on ourselves. Earlier this season several BIG and Big 12 schools lost interconfence games against subpar SEC teams. If we had won those games, then ESecPN would have a harder time selling the lie.

Sig, welcome to Coogfans.
In the cfp’s world only two conferences matter to the rodent, aka espn. The big10 and sec drive the cfp. The BIG12 has no pull whatsoever and never had since uta and okie left. Remember the rodent’s and uta’s goal was to kill the BIG12. Thanks to Bowlesby it did not happen. Since then the BIG12 is an afterthought for them. Hence the abysmal espn coverage during the season. TNT came in and every single of their BIG12 broadcast blew espn’s.
What is at stake here is for Yormark to get fsu, miami, clemson and maybe NC/GT to the BIG12. That is paramount for a better media deal with TNT or others.

Our OOC sucks next year so we will have to win the conference to get in the CFP imo…

Unless we have a dominant season like Tech this year because their OOC was even worse this year than ours is next year.

Yeah I blame the AD and CWF for that. We should be trying to schedule Arkansas, OU, Mizzou, LSU, Illinois, and Nebraska. OOC opponents in the area who would love to recruit Texas.

We get LSU in 27 at least

He just got here. Give him some time. Do some of you realize the type of mess he inherited? I have all the confidence in Eddie.

That’s on Pez.

Agreed, and that is who I meant when I said the AD.

He started off pretty rocky but did better toward the end of the season…

He gets a few years before I pass judgment.

Not sure Willie had anything to do with the schedule through 2026…

It has been so for years

Fair enough.

I have faith that whoever we play, CWF will have us ready to play. He isn’t Ryan Day!
