I know he CW is supposed to be the #1 pick, but why? I don’t remember seeing him in the CFP, not even the first round. Picking a QB in the first round, especially the first pick, is a crapshoot. I am glad the Texans got the #2 QB in the draft. For example, Bryce Young may be really good in the future, but not so much this season. Lots of great college players don’t do very well in the pros.
I’m more neutral/indifferent on it but my typical position is to support labor over management when it comes to disputes in athletics. And I’m also for teams being incentivized to actually get their ish together and strive for excellence and not be complacent with mediocrity or worse. Which is why I like the structure of the EPL so much with relegation/promotion. There are actual consequences for running a rubbish organization.

Josh Allen and many other great QBs never played in a CFP game or won any championships prior to NFL. Patrick Mahomes was on a 6-6 squad before going into NFL.
Caleb Williams has a lot of ability and should be a great get but I do agree his attitude leaves a lot to be desired. Much prefer a humble player over a cocky one.

Caleb does some of the stuff that Watson did I am talking about on the field that drove me crazy. He holds the ball looking for the home run and sometimes its ok to take the checkdown and live to fight the next play. Texans oline got bashed when Watson was here and half the sacks was Watson holding the ball and taking unecessary hits.
Thank goodness the Texans got it right with CJ Stroud. Barring injury, I expect him to lead the Texans to a Super Bowl sooner rather than later.

What would happen if all student athletes were able to negotiate with any and all NFL teams (Pick and Choose)? At least in the NFL, there is a “salary cap”. Wonder if this will end anytime soon? NCAA football is an experiment taking place today that could foretell the future of pro sports. With just 2 P teams, IMHO, attendance and interest is FB will continue to decline. Many years ago, the NY Yankees were the “rich” team and won most of the time. Did the other teams draw well when they were not playing the Yankees? Money talks, and the players will follow the money, maybe to the detriment of the game. Maybe, maybe not, but I see a possibility.

Were they? I don’t remember any vitriol at Elway and pretty much none for Eli. I just remember things working out so those guys got what they wanted.
