But how much does he give to NIL?

I don’t think he can personally give to NIL due to him being a BOR member

From what I understand, he would need to resign from the BOR in order to start providing NIL money

I don’t know about him personally, but maybe some of his gillions of restaurants, teams, and other enterprises could kick in.

It really doesn’t matter in the long run

We can’t expect Tillman to do all the heavy lifting. It will make UH’s already small donor base even more lazy

I agree, but I was just answering a theoretical question with a theoretical answer.

college football is now an ego thing $$$, Coogfans are humble beings, realistically, the only way UH succeeds is with old rich guys or businesses willing to spend cuz of their ego $$$

All true but in theory Tillman could easily fund us but wants broader support but he could fund it all.

The interesting thing is he doesn’t own an nfl team bc it’s tough to break into that good ole boy club unlike pro bb. Therefore UH could be his nfl team so to speck.

McNair family will own the Texans in perpetuity

The franchise is probably intertwined in the McNair family trust fund lol

Fertitta won’t own anything in sports outside of Houston

PE has arrived in the NFL…something to watch out for

The nfl has huge tv numbers bc the average joe feels included so he watches along with reg college fans who watch the nfl.

College sports isn’t watched by all but mainly only by alumni of schools and crossover fans from other schools watching Bama vs ga but they do so bc their team, Miami is relevant.

Joe the plumber won’t watch college football much but he will watch the nfl. This is why ESPN would be stupid to let it go the nfl model. Failure would happen and money would dry up.

Rob Sellers from TOS said there is nothing stopping him from donating to NIL, fwiw

Tilman seems like somebody who wants control over decisions but is cheap about everything.

Essentially every CEO in modern capitalism lol

You think Drake just shows up to the penthouse party at his post oak hotel for the basketball team for free?

We start winning, he will start paying. He did not become the richest person in Houston by investing poorly.
