I think their belief is we need a more proven winner. Who can get us back to Top 15 level program

One of the college football talking heads close to the FSU program said that Florida St. was giving Norvell every chance to remain as coach, due to the athletic debt FSU has accumulated.
According to Sportico, FSU closed fiscal year 2025 with $437 million in athletics-related debt, according to its latest financial disclosures to the NCAA, a $200 million increase from the prior fiscal cycle and, at the time, was the highest total of any public FBS program reported in FY24. The figure placed the Seminoles atop the list of most heavily leveraged athletics departments in the country. (Note: Penn St. reported $534.7M in athletic debt in its FY25 financial disclosures to the NCAA, so Penn St. is the new leader in debt.)

FSU loves drama.
Didn’t FSU beat Bama last season and go undefeated a couple of years ago under him. To me he was one good QB away from a CFB berth. Should gave given him another year or two, plus the buyout id ridiculous.
Hope FSU finds a coach analogous to Okie state who comes with a first round draft pick QB because, if they miss, they’ll really be in the doldrums.
Franklin got another coaching job and StatePenn wound up paying him around $9 million.

I can understand people being frustrated and wanting to get rid of coaches, but I don’t understand the financial situations that saddle institutions with disastrous financial burdens that take years to overcome. That stuff doesn’t make financial sense

Their people are talking about the Georgia DC or Jimbo. Fritz is not mentioned. We have nothing to worry about, CWF isnt going anywhere.

HC & Assistants contracts are primarily taken care off by the boosters. The boosters will pay the buyout and take care of the new HC, Coaching staff contracts through donations.
I think Weigman certainly belongs on a high list. Season isnt over yet.
But if we would’ve went 5-7 last year. Due to his injuries. The talk, would be Houston doesnt belong in Big12 football
But Weigman and Fritz earned us alot of respect nationally winning 10 games. That we haven’t had since Greg Ward
I view Weigman as maybe a Galen Robinson Jr. Alot of good QBs will come after him. But he was the first to invest in the rebuild

Replace Conner Weigman with Danny Davis or D.C. Nobles. They both have accomplished much more than Weigman.

Come to think of it, David Klingler belongs ahead of Conner Weigman, based on his body of work. Conner is certainly in the upper echelon of UH QBs.

That’s a great Mt Rushmore, but I think any UH Mt. Rushmore type photo that doesn’t have Danny Davis is missing the boat.
