Horrible news, by accounts a good guy and coach. My son has reffed several of his games and had nothing but positive things to say about him and the program. RIP. ![]()
Absolutely horrible. Their radio guy for EB is from Ganado. He told me today the Jenkins’ have a senior football son which I was unaware.
We host East Bernard week 3 on 9/11. I am my high school’s announcer. I reached out to our superintendent today who is from East Bernard. We are going to try and honor them in some way week 3 on 9/11.
My sister in law’s dad said there have been mutliple fatalities on that road in the last 3 months. I personally only travel 60 every other year when we play East Bernard on the road.
That same highway took the life of a Ganado elementary student in 2001 on the way to Ganado vs Garrison in College Station semi final game.
Terrible news. Praying for the families and friends.
That would be fitting. I hope you can make that happen.
There was another one that killed someone else from East Bernard earlier in the same day. Terrible.
I think at least one of his kids is on the current football team - maybe two of them.
I wonder if the car was on autopilot? The last time I drove that road, the stripes were hard to see - could affect the road-sensing in certain light conditions.
My Son, his wife and my 3 grandkids live in East Bernanrd and are very involved in the community. I had not heard this. It is a very close knit community. Tragic
I have been texting this morning with my son. They knew the family fairly well. They have 2 other sons. One at Sam Houston State and one a soph at EB. It has rocked the East Bernard community. Please pray for them. I can’t imagine.
A terrible tragedy.
Praying for the family and the community. The coach’s legacy will live on.
Terrible to hear this. Thoughts and prayers are with the family and community.
