Is Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year and a finalist for the FCS Coach of the year.

For those who don’t know, there were people clamoring for Tennessee State to join the SWAC due to not being competitive in the OVC. However, Eddie George came in, got to work and now they’re making their first FCS Playoff berth in 11 years.

People, including myself thought this was just another school chasing after the Coach Prime hype especially since Eddie had no coaching experience at the time.

But he came in and quietly built one of the best FCS teams.

I wonder if Eddie George is following the same path as Coach Prime, but without the hype machine.

I have liked George ever since he was drafted by the Houston Oilers.

OVC lost some teams which helped them but Eddie has publicly asked why fans won’t show up to OVC games but they show up in droves against the HBCU teams - not hard to figure out

plus, Tennessee State is going through some turmoil also economically so he’s doing it in spite of
