Pardon my skepticism, but I find it hard to believe the NCAA did not know the Ohio judge had school ties related to five of the individuals he was ruling eligibility on.
Judge Wagner, let me introduce you to the concept of conflict of interest.
Corruption out in the open.
These are the types of things the NCAA doesn’t want to know. It’s like when a coward hears their daughter is dating the town billionaire’s pedophile son.
Corrupt and stupid.
If the NCAA or their attorneys didn’t know, then I think that should be malpractice, or willful ignorance.
2 cups stupid, 1 1/2 cups incompetence and about 1/4 cup corruption
Now individual schools and/or conferences within the NCAA add a lot more of that third ingredient.
FYI, there are 9 voting members on the NCAA Board of Governors. Though I can only see 8 listed on the NCAA web site.
Chair is Commissioner of ACC (prior chair was the Baylor President), also Chancellors of University of Mississippi and University of Kansas. Two from Div II and one from Div III.
The last two make no sense to me running college sports:
Vice President of the Boston Celtics
Surgeon General of the US Army
If they would have paid players all this wouldn’t have happened.
