Pardon my skepticism, but I find it hard to believe the NCAA did not know the Ohio judge had school ties related to five of the individuals he was ruling eligibility on.

FYI, there are 9 voting members on the NCAA Board of Governors. Though I can only see 8 listed on the NCAA web site.
Chair is Commissioner of ACC (prior chair was the Baylor President), also Chancellors of University of Mississippi and University of Kansas. Two from Div II and one from Div III.
The last two make no sense to me running college sports:
