OT: More Proof UH Is Transforming to Traditional Campus

Do all the Auburn alums admit such? Nice to see some honesty these days. Can’t believe one of the MIssissippi schools aren’t on that list. But an Alabama entrant checks out, and aggies too. I bet UH would be close to last place on that particular list.

I imagine not. I have a decidedly less positive opinion of the school than most who went there. Lovely campus, but uh…their demographics do not match those of the state or broader region, and I don’t get the impression that they’re terribly unhappy about that. Bit of a culture shock coming from UH.

Remember that Bama only integrated their Greek system in 2013.

I joined Alpha Phi Omega at UH in 1966. A National Service Fraternity.

In 1967 we had Black guys, Jews, Gays, and pretty much whatever.

We got along great. Never any issues. A wonderful experience.

My Big Brother was Captain of The Cougar Guard. A live Cougar on Campus. Shasta. Took her to many away games. Just exciting!

Harris county sent out letters asking for proposals AGAIN on redeveloping the astrodome. How many times has that happened with nobody interested in actually putting up money to do something with the structure?

Until someone puts up money to develop a UH entertainment district then the district is the same as the astrodome.

Voters showed that this was their preference during Ed Emmett’s tenure and then he quickly had it made into landmark status because he didn’t want it torn down.

i wouldn’t figure oregon state would have a lot of hate crimes, its a small college town near no where else with a real population for that stuff. the rest except maybe auburn have city life that can drift in and affect it.

The demographics of UT and UH are closer to the same now. A&M is only slightly 50% percent white, maybe 53 or 57 now.
The UT kids in the pic are embracing the culture here and attending sporting events at UT. So it’s all good and the guy running for office who made the comment is out of line bc assimilation is happening.

What’s going on in Cali?

This tweet and the sentiment behind it is disgusting. I cannot believe people think this way.

Weird. I was always told students who look like this are the reason UH will never have good attendance in football.

The UCs have a unified application form, so if you’re applying to one you can apply to others with little or no cost or effort. Combine that with the fact that Berkeley and UCLA are both very popular in their own right and that’s a recipe for a LOT of applications to each of them.

Well it’s proof it’s not. At UH games I see all demographics in the stadium supporting. We simply need more to buy in. I still think the administration can do more. UT is now only 30% white and the stadium is full so we have no excuse. It can be done here. For one, they could lower the ticket prices some especially for the upper decks and overall. Getting a full stadium is more important that maximizing every seat dollar for now. Once we have the demand then raise prices.
