Yikes that football conference is hideous

If I’m Nevada and Wyoming I’m feeling absolutely gypped. No reason either of those two should be looking up at UNLV.

Well Hawaii is only MWC for Football so I guess that tracks?

Wyoming fans were talking about dropping to FCS and joining the Big Sky last week. This keeps them from doing that. I guess the 11.5% is still more than they’d make in that conference.

Does anyone think Odom and Marion are staying if UNLV makes a CFP? Rebels would go back to their usual selves real quick

Yeah I think both of them are gone should they make the CFP.

The uneven split is only for the exit fees, etc. From The Athletic:

"But the MWC’s “promise of a big payday was enough to keep the group together.” The conference has almost $150M due its way through exit fees (around $18M per departing member) and poaching fees ($55M). The full distribution of the exit fees will be “split among the seven member schools,” with Air Force and UNLV receiving 24.5% shares; Nevada, New Mexico, San Jose State and Wyoming 11.5%; and Hawaii 5%. The MWC, currently at six full members, will still need to “get to eight within two years of dropping below that threshold if it is unable to add two additional teams”

imagine giving half your league’s revenue to two schools that have won a combined zero conference titles in the 25 years they’ve been members.
