These are serious penalties that occurred during the Harbaugh era, but short of a post-season ban. Penalties include probation, financial penalties, recruiting restrictions, and show-cause orders for staff members. Head coach Sherrone Moore will serve a total 3 game suspension. If I was Michigan leadership and the B1G, I would not be happy with Michigan’s football program.
The reason the NCAA didn’t give them a post season ban is because it would cost the B1G money.
If that’s a hammer it must have a pool noodle for a head
It’s Penny’s fault
Meanwhile they gave Akron a post-season ban this year for having a bad APR lmao
Make it make sense
The equipment managers will serve any suspensions.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Ok so this just set the precedent that you can get a natty for $20M since their title wasn’t vacated.
JLCoog with all due respect these sanctions are nothing to Michigan. They print money every day. Real sanctions? Vacate National Championship, multiple years post season ban. Maybe you were being sarcastic.
USC got hammered a few years back and sets them back greatly.
You are guilty of stealing signals? Where is the media uproar like for the Astros?
big10, you can be the worst human scum and cheat YOU will be the conference to get away with it.
You are a UH or smu the ncaa will do everything to shut you down for good.
Tale as old as time!
Absolutely, if had been anything less than a blueblood program it would have been much, much worse. The NIL has changed a lot of things, but certainly not preferential treatment.
Just so we’re clear. Michigan is not being fined in the real sense of the word. They’re being denied post season earnings estimated to be 20-25 million. It’s a shell game.
Their wrists are probably so sore from all the slapping.

…no, no, no boys. Ok. Just don’t do it again.
could you imagine if the villains were us?
What would the penalty be?
Yikes, just thinking about it.
Whole thing is preposterous. Who cares if they steal signs? We stoles signs in LLB, middle school and high school football. The teams my kids play on do it now.
The NCAA knew they weren’t going to actually do anything because if they did, then that is just one more strike against it when the P4 conferences decide to tell them to pound sand and they leave the NCAA for good.
I think you mean Will Wade, who just took over at NC State
This may be the problem. Should not be teaching anything with the word stealing in it. Teaching to cheat early is not good. Normalizing bad actions does not make them good.
Let me add clarification:
Sign Stealing - any efforts to steals signs and signals by coaches, staff, volunteers prior to the game being played or people using efforts from stands/sidelines to intercept signs.
Players on field hearing a call and adjusting is not stealing. A DE hears an audible and remembers that previously it was called and was a run play is just paying attention IN GAME.
