They have to see if this travel mess they created is even sustainable for the current members, form an econimic standpoint!
Personally, I think there should be a set spending limit for each university athletic dept. Set an operational limit of say $150 million for all sports. Anything above that would go back to the university’s educational goals. It is a university after all whose primary mission is to educate and prepare young adults, not a for profit entertainment business.
(A separate fund for facility construction would exist as that is not operations)
The proposed NCAA revenue sharing is a % of the school’s revenue, not to exceed $20.5M. That seems proportional to the school with a not to exceed amount. Seems fair and schools will get around the $20.5M like the always do.
Yes, for sure…Many BIG members are unhappy and think the league is already too big with its 18 members. They are not going to vote new members in.
…and you add the fact that the SEC is very slow to expand, it’s ‘clear as day’ to see why the ACC will stay intact for at least another decade plus.
The FSU lawsuit is nothing more than a UT level scare tactic to get unequal revenue sharing…nothing more.
Remember the LHN was nothing more than a front, by ESPN, to “technically”, keep them equal but find a way to pay them more than their Big 12 peers via another revenue source
