They really need to tighten up these NIL contracts.
I wonder how specific they are right but they need to become way more sophisticated.
Until we see court cases piling up with ‘breach of contract’ including huge penalties for not playing a full season, we will see this happen.
Almost like they need to put a NIL amount per game played clause.
We are a few years into this so it should be less like the Wild West…not more

Maybe he’s getting offers from schools with more NIL$ and wants to preserve a year of NIL at a higher rate.
IIRC, the NCAA forbids schools from directly contacting other school’s players (aka poaching) but a school’s coaches can contact their own NIL Collective who can then contact the player with an offer.

He lost his starting position (didn’t even travel for the last game) and wants to maintain eligibility for the year. This doesn’t surprise me at all.
With the 4 game redshirt rule and free transfers, this is now the norm.

I go to church regularly, teach a Sunday school class, etc., but anytime I pray for sports, Jesus never tells me anything. If he answered my sports prayers, we would have been undefeated for several decades by now. What am I doing wrong?

I don’t know what the circumstances are that made this young man hit the transfer portal but if you think Sluka is the only athlete getting stiffed by a NIL, you need a reality check.

Its not so much UCF NIL.
FSU and UF have the $$$ and are desperate.
A good player at UCF is easiest for them.
Add usual Ole Miss looking for ringers in his FAU recruiting grounds.
UCF has $$$ but not vs what an embarrassed FSU and worried about relevance UF.
Unless I’m misunderstanding.
FSU supporter gave new Defensive ringers Lambo SUVs as NIL & they are tearing around town.
Awesome on a good team but the “Lambo Guys” gets wrecked every week.
They have been horrible compared to their draft projections & NIL.
FSU fans ready for those leases to be up.
