Yes, I know. I had one of my brain dead moments.
United States should never come home with less than gold at an Olympics. Unless the best players internationally teamed up on one team. If you had Luka, Giannis, Wemby, Jokic, etc playing against Team USA, then I could see it. But the talent internationally is just too spread out for the US not to win every Olympics.

Its inevitable that somewhere down the road another county will win the Men’s Basketball Olympic Gold. Who or when is anybody’s guess. Basketball has become an international sport. As long as USA doesn’t make it a habit of not competing for the gold medal, USA will be all right. Revenge can also be a prime motivator and make the games more interesting.

It has gotten to the point and has been that we need to have the right and very best players there. The days that we should be able to assemble any NBA team and win GOLD is long gone. The fact that the world can now be competitive is a tremendous influence for our NBA best to take this serious and participate.
The Serbi game was maybe the first time our guys have been endanger of losing and I was not even disappointed with the effort other than a couple bigs.

Our basketball team has always been a testament to chemistry over raw talent. The US has so many players sure, but the other National teams play with each other all the time every year and have great chemistry.
