OT: UT-Arlington wants to bring football back

They could be a solid FCS program for sure.

If they get a shot at FBS, they could potentially make a similar rise like UTSA did. Of course not too much because Austin would pull the plug.

They would compete in the new United Athletic Conference, which is the permanent merger of the WAC and Atlantic Sun. They’d at least have cheap travel and SFA is in the market for a new rival.

Oliver Luck is the new conference’s commissioner.

This also means WAC football is again dead.

First I heard the new name.

The location makes sense for football.

How does Oliver Luck keep falling ass backwards into being commissioner of so many leagues?

I can remember Texas-Arlington having football when I was a little kid.

Surprised it never came back.

I said the same thing - he’ll do 2-3 years max and bolt - that’s his m.o.

This is ain’t high level enough for him - just something to do until the high level stuff comes along again

I remember rec 2000 was passed on similar lines. I think TDECU stadium had a few thousand votes.

With just a smaaaaaaall detour through hell. No big deal.

Better than Memphis at least

Have you ever saw Hell and Memphis in the same room? I haven’t.
