Lauren Sampson has been a behind the scenes driver for the women’s program. Whatever the men get, the women should get too.
On the men’s side I’d love to see a soccer team pop up. We would be competitive IMMEDIATELY.
On the women’s side, gymnastics. We can be the program of Texas. Also competitive IMMEDIATELY. It’s been the rumored next program for YEARS.
It’s fun to fantasize about having various sports, but I do think men’s soccer could do really well at UH.
I understand the obstacles, though, and really do want to see the baseball program revived; we have the ability to be very good in baseball, and it’s been hard watching the last few years.
If not for Title IX, there would only be Football and Basketball at any university that hasn’t been in a “power” league for the past 30 years.
