Lacrosse
It blew my mind that the Big 12 had Lacrosse. I saw yesterday Oklahoma St is about to go division 1 for mens hockey.

Arizona St has division 1 hockey as well.
AZ and FL having organizations with hockey teams is wrong imo.
I ALMOST went to RPI… Guess I would’ve turned into a hockey fan if I had left UH to go there…
Is the B12 Lacrosse men and women or just men? My grand daughter(10 years old) plays Lacrosse and has to travel with her team to find competition. I am glad to see the game growing in our Conference.

UC Davis, San Diego State? I guess they were brought in to have enough teams for a “league”?

They’ll probably hire a Lacrosse coach for 1 mil a year and let baseball wither on the vine

UH lacrosse is a club team. Last year as a freshman, my son was on the team. Unfortunately he injured his knee.

no reason for the cougars to add hockey in a gulf coast state; wish that would plow any extra money in womens basketball; lots of good mens basketball have brought up their womens programs by association.

I’d rather they put it into an historically strong baseball program and let a coach get us back to national relevance.

We’re having a hard enough time filling up TDECU stadium for football and women’s sports and now, for whatever reason, some fans want a hockey team? Lacrosse team?
When does sports obsession morph into sports disease?
Common sense dictates that we should build up our current collegiate sports programs that need major attention before creating new costly and attendance challenged programs.

If the NHL comes to Houston it will give youth hockey a shot in the arm and eventually there might be some interest in UH going division 1 but that is a long way from happening.
We have a hockey team.
