Nothing wrong with that rule.
You’re not out at 1B if the guy drops the ball….no different.
I saw the play….that’s on the catcher….no way he doesn’t know the rule in HS.
He knew he didn’t catch it, pick it up throw it to the inside of First.
Yeah I got no problem with the rule. It’s just wild to see any team choke away a championship that badly

If a championship wasn’t involved, it probably wouldn’t be newsworthy. As it turned out, it garnered the national spotlight.
I learned at a very early age never try to be the umpire. 100% on the catcher. He learned his lesson the hard way.
