Our tennis facility isn’t good and it’s on Scott Street. I tried for 3 years to raise money for a joint venture between UH and Zina Garrison’s Academy but there was almost no interest despite it being a great collaboration between UH Athletics, School of Education, and Social Work. The money raised went to resurface the courts and finally add a scoreboard.
Well the women’s tennis team is 9-0
We play the first Big 12 game against ranked BYU on the 29th

When was that? I do remember those discussions but forget about what years that was.
Our big gala event was at TDECU and involved former players who came back from England to support the effort. It was the weekend of the big Memphis comeback win in 2015.

Two years ago we were 2-17!!!
I have been told that European players play higher competition much earlier in their careers.It is like our “Club” sports.Therefore,when you get a European player you get an older more experienced person. They are ready to play on their first day with us, as compared to a Freshman US player. It is kind of a different system.

It’s already an historic season for Coog’s Women Tennis, even merely 2 games in to conference play.
