OU Game alternatives for Directv victims

Oh yea, ESPN knows it is college football time and contract is up for renegotiation so who suffers?

I won’t bother hassling Directv as a patsy for espn… I’ll just look for an alternative at this point, Too old to let my BP get that high

Any help is appreciated.

Game is on the SEC Network

There are other options, but they kind of open you up to some security risks And connections are not always reliable. And you have to be a little bit tech savvy. Anybody around 30 or younger in your network should know about them and probably could help you. You will probably save about 100 bucks a month and get 1000 more channels and All the shows and movies.

SEC Network is ESPN.

You can get a 7 day free trial of Fubo and makeba decision after that IF DirectTV has not reached an agreement

I have DirecTV AND ESPN+.

ESPN+ works through your cable/satellite provider for anything that’s on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN NEWS, ESPN U, SEC Network and ACC Network.

So, DirecTV customers are SOL, unless it’s on ESPN3/ESPN+

OR you have a digital antenna for ABC.

Ditch DirecTV and go to Hulu Live +

I would, but truth be told, no other provider comes close to the sports package on DirecTV.

Eventually this will get resolved and it will happen to another cable/satellite/streaming provider sometime in the future.

Edit: also Space City Network (Astros) are not on HULU+ Live.

I have Directv and for the football season and basketball ESPN+

I signed up for YouTube TV for the free trial. I will cancel soon after the W Cough Cough

I’m aware brother. As I’ve indirectly mentioned before, I’m not opposed to switching to streaming, but there isn’t an alternative that comes close to what DirecTV offers in regards to sports via their sports package.

My current Xfinity package has all the channels that have been mentioned here. Between that and ESPN+, I never miss the games of my choice.

And unlike when I had Direct TV, I don’t have to worry about losing reception in a rainstorm (which happened more than once when I had it).

I’d never go back to any dish system given that experience.

Perhaps dish systems have gotten better since 2009 though (I had Direct TV from 2008-2009 in Kansas).

I prefer satélite to any other technology. Much more robust. The infrastructure for streaming is terrible. If electricity goes out even if you have a generator your SOL. However, with satélite you are good to go.

To each their own, obviously everyone is entitled to their opinions and preferences. I remember last year (I believe) when Xfinity and TBS had their contract end during March Madness.

These contract things happen every so often to all TV providers.

I can count on one hand the times I lost signal (13 years), when it happens it’s brief or you opt to watch in a lower resolution.

For me, old fashioned corded cable is the most reliable.

Dish systems can lose their signal in bad weather.

Streaming systems are only good IF you are connected to hard wired high speed Internet via Ethernet cable (I currently use that for ESPN+).

Wi-Fi based streams can sometimes slow down or stall out. Or at least, that sometimes happened to me on ESPN+ when I ran it through Wi-Fi.

Now that it’s on hard wired Internet, it’s fine.

Again, corded cable PLUS hard wired Internet for ESPN+ will get you every game you want with the greatest reliability possible.

I have espn + I don’t see UH game on there y’all sure sec network game is on espn plus??

I’ve scoured the espn+ schedule a couple of times hoping it would update, but so far, no Coogs or SEC channels.

I signed up for the 21 day free trial on YouTube TV. Watched the SMU BYU game there.

Be sure to apply for your $20 credit on DirecTV’s website.

Another vote for Fubo.

Not on ESPN+

ESPN+ is ONLY the additional content

As stated earlier, ESPN+ is for ESPN+ content.

You can access ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN News, ESPN U, ACCN and SECN via ESPN+, but it will ask you to log into your TV provider to access the content.
