Who ?
Yeah, thatâs kind of where Iâm at. Iâm not playing the âneutral site in Houstonâ game. If theyâre looking for new revenue sources, thatâs fine - it wonât be coming from my pocket.
Clearly folks donât know why they are going to the games. You are going to support and watch your Houston Cougars. Who they play should be irrelevant. Something that basic escapes here but does not for Aggies etc. why?
I think that people who buy tickets get to decide why they go to games. Crazy idea, huh?
I canât remember who the group is that is running it, I did a quick google search with no luck. Someone else might remember.
For the record I donât really like the Houston game away from the FC but at least it adds a named opponent for two years with Auburn and FSU for this season. I would rather not do this any more unless it comes with another two year home and home package.
This whole âgo support your team no matter whatâ comment is so lame. Weâre all UH fans here, no crap weâre gonna a be there to support our team, but itâs fair criticism that our home non-conference schedule is a total dud.
Itâs amazing how great our team is and where Coach Sampson has us, and I do think that he truly tried to get us a good home game, but due to factors beyond our knowledge that didnât happen. All that said, it doesnât mean that as a season ticket holder I canât criticize the fact that every game in our building until conference play is a no-name jobber⊠then we have to pay extra to go see good games at Toyota Center and an exhibition way out in the burbs.
Rant over. Go Coogs!
hopefully we can get a conference challenge with the B10 or new look PAC 12 soon so we can eliminate one of those teams in the 300s for an extra Q1/2 game sooner rather than later lol
Can someone provide the Auburn vs Gouston game locations over the ladt few yesrs or couple? Has even one game been played in Houston at TFC?
Also. Unleashed itâs a real sag showâŠ
UC season ticket holders are complaining about the crappy home slate too. We have Dayton and thatâs it, and our buy games are worse.
But at least Sampson will schedule you guys in MTEâs⊠in the 5 scheduled that Wes has made for UC, heâs scheduled Zero MTEâs and just 2 home & Homes (Dayton & Gtech).
At least with the Players Era MTE, Houston fans can book one flight to Vegas (or Drive) and see 3 games on a round trip flight.
UC fans have 3 nuetral games on the books, all in different locations. One is in cincinnati but itâs in a junk ass arena that cincinnati fans hate. And they are charging ridiculous prices for. The other 2 are in Greenville & Atlanta. Both very favorable to Clemson & Atlanta.
Overall this is a good schedule for Houston.just not fir your most loyal fans
Yall havenât played a single MTE under Miller? Thats crazy.
The non conference sucks. It ruins if you want to resell incase you miss a game or make up the price of season. You are spending and extra 500 or more to see them outside for 2 games. The school is out of touch.
Im sure there are plenty of schools not named Duke or UNC that dont sell out for eggs Benedict universityâŠ
All good. I donât have those problems or challenges bcoz I know what I am excited to watch. For many here I see the struggle is real.
Iâm all for supporting the Coogs, but we need better non conference games at the Fertitta Center. You could skip all seven games through Christmas and not miss much. Just saying?
For those interested, there are some great tickets available - courtside and front row.
Those are never available at FC. Very different feel if youâve never been that close.
Serious odd takes⊠folks a non-conference schedule requires the coordination of two athletic directors. Otherwise the battle of highway 71, i.e. Houston Cougars vs. Texas Longhorns would happen in football every year.
Also, if youâre worrying about strength of schedule for a multiple time final four and elite 8 program⊠I have no remedy for you. Because McNeese St was one of the funnest games I attended.
Not true⊠youâll miss some awesome basketball by the CoogsâŠ
Change your mindsets folks.
Played in Maui but miller had no hand in scheduling it, mick did.
Remember how this board used to talk about how excited the fan base would be to play a P4 schedule, and how the arena would be packed every night if we were playing Baylor and WVU and K-State instead of Temple and Tulane and Tulsa?
All about the Benjaminâs !!!
